Well, just got off the phone with my boss. It's not confirmed yet, BUT it looks as if I may be headed to TX for a few weeks. (Brady, TX then Longview, TX) I may have to spend a week, but probably at least two weeks or so at each terminal to train, set up, and initiate the new billing and dispatch system. So, I will most likely be out of touch, short of any meager free time I may get in my rooms at night. So much for contests and builds, this could last as long as Thanksgiving I'm afraid. My wife is NOT pleased, neither am I really. I asked to do this months ago, but to no avail, and now, with Halloween and Thanksgiving coming, it's decided to take me up on my idea, and of course, my idea, guess who gets to go.
This club has been a great refuge for me the past few months, got to know, (via a keyboard anyways), some wonderful folks here, hopefully I will be back to building in a month or so, whenever I get home again. So, to close, just a quick shout out to a few close members...............
Beast - my heart still, and always will go out to you and your family for your loss. Hang in there my friend.
Hemi - do be careful on all that coffee - it's NOT THAT good for you, LOL. I hope the Volare I got you works out well, knowing you, you will make it an awesome build. If you send that HHUG kit while I am gone, my wife will pick it up, I told her you may be sending a kit - if you cannot send it, no worries, I was just glad to help another.
DeeCee - you keep building and painting those awesome builds mate - and maybe I will be able to drink a few with ya over the holidays. The honey beer I brewed came out excellent by the way, still have about 10 left, so we will have to figure out when we are both online at the same time, and have a cheers together!
Iceman - I will get you 25 bucks sent via PayPal, probably next Friday for the eBay contest, as my 66 Nova is not done, and probably wont get to finishing it for sometime. Also, if you want, you can just post all those kits I bought and donated at one time, no need to stretch it out, you have enough work to do as it is. I do hope whoever gets those kits will like them. Oh yeah - don't forget to drop me some feedback on eBay for those as well. When I get back, maybe I can snag some ore from your store.

A cheers sounds good to me mate, but one of us are going to have beer for breakfast.  Would love to sample a honey beer, that's for sure, I reckon you need to take one of your Nascar kits to the hotel room with you, for those long lonely nights, it's amazing how much detail you can do on a kit when you are bored and nobody to interrupt you either, you can't drink beer every night, believe me, I tried. We will all be here when you get back to it mate, ENJOY. |

Just had some great news, Texas trip has been postponed!!! After a long conference call meeting today between the terminals, myself and Steve, (my boss - AKA the owner), it was agreed to put off the new system until after the first of the year!!!

I did say it was along 14 HOUR DAY dudes!!! Did some posting, had a homemade brewski, ( I am figuring my home brew is around 8.5 to 9 poinbt) - and slept like a baby!!!

THEN, I am also building a model, of a real car a fellow once had, (NO pictures have been posted) BUT its not mine so...... even tho I'm doing all the work....SO, and that will be probably the first one I've completed in...25 or 24 years!

As promised my friends, went straight to the bench tonight after work. Got a little bit more done on the eBay 66 Nova - will get some more done and post some pics this weekend. Hoping to nearly finish this weekend, then polish, touch up, fix, repair, curse at it, touch up more package, and send it back to Ice to be auctioned off!

But all in good fun, a 14 hour day isn't any damn fun to say the very least, or well till the pay check rolls in! AND I bet since your position, you are on salary, so that may not even count!

Hemi - yup, salary - totally bites!! hahaha
DC - yep, 10 hours, BUT you are forgetting, 1 hour to bitch and vent about the day, 2 hours to work out and clean up, 1 hour to plop in the chair and channel check hundreds of channels on the TV only to be reminded that with nothing worthwhile is on that dam big screen
Totaling it up: 10-4 = 6 hours left, gotta get 6 hours of sleep to be able to stand coming back to work to deal with it all over again!!
