I'ma old 80's hard rock, or even speed metal from the time....I don't like the death metal BUT with a few, exceptions, of "heavy".....
Favorite? METALLICA!
Close second, to Ozzy Osbourne
Followed by AC/DC.....
Then you have Megadeth, for the old stuff, I have a few new ones too.... Old Heavy stuff, really Pantera, and Rob Zombie, and White Zombie.
Avenge Sevenfold, 5 finger Death Punch, for the "new" heavy stuff.... And other hard rock bands but this is just to name a few....
Currently listening to
Avenged Sevenfold "This Means War"

All awesome bands my friend - you know it, 80's ROCK, DIO LIVES FOREVER!!!! smileyCASHS601_zps1c54a9c5
Pretty much a fan of the same music here Hemi - currently listening to Kill Switch Engage, I think Chevelle is up next then if I'm not mistaken, some Shinedown!! I know Switchfoot is in there somewhere, also got Pretty Reckless floating around in there. Our old stereo holds 25 disks - one of these days we will finally be fully digital and even the cd will be history. Feels weird, since I still remember the 8-track from when I was a young kid!!! LOL - Definitely showed my age on that comment - HA! But hey, turning 50 in November isn't so bad I guess.

-PLEASED to know I'm not alone! I'ma metal head, sure enough altho i play with a lotta plastic these days.... LMAO.....
Favorite song?
I got married to my Favorite song. "Nothing Else Matters"................Gotta love the gang under 'tallica.......
Plus, something I don't talk about much, is I also have a slightly burning out hobby, that I don't speak of much, but I used to be a drummer, (it take a bit to get me to play again, I haven't touched a set of stix, in GAWD, 12 years!?
But, as the words of Dee Snyder, its if not METAL its..................CRAP!
Ronnie James Dio, OMG.....hmmmm the song, errrrr ummmmm HOLY DIVER!!!! HELLS yeah!
music was better back then, wasn't it? I mean a lot of the newer bands aren't going to last like say Ozzy or even Metallica even tho they're 50 this year...........WOW I can not believe The Black Album is 23!!!!!!! GOD I stood in line for that one and was the first in the state of Pennsylvania, to get it, on the midnight release of the album, as the only Music shop "Record Off The Wall" opened up at mid night for the sales.......Was thee first person to buy it in my home state! I also have underground CDs of Metallica......AND the original "Garage Days" on CD that was a "give away" with back stage tickets! The CD says "The Metal Shop" on it.....

I hear ya my friend - I still have my 3 axes from back in the day. My favorite is my Takamine G-Series. But honestly, all they do anymore is sit and display in their stands.
I to still have the hair, losing it pretty much on top, but still have the long hair down the back. Not sure why anymore though really.

I agree with a lot of what you guys listen to basicly anything (rock & roll heavy metal) from the 60's thru the 80's is my thing , have no cable or satellite TV just listen to music mostly . CC as far as 8 tracks I can remember as I turn 63 tomorrow , used to have a 8 track player in my 57 Fairlane I drove to High School only thing I hated is every time I poped the clutch at full throttle it would spit out the tape on the seat !!! It was a pretty fast Fairlane as I swapped in a 63 T-bird 390 instead on the 292 factory motor , boy wish I still had that one ! Good to have memories ,good old days

Happy birthday Paul!
8 Track, whats that? Nahhhh I know, you hit a bump it hop/skip to the next section as you had 4 section per 8 track......I grew up with records, 8 Tracks, and Cassettes..... At one point in my life, I musta had 400 cassettes! Sadly gave them all to an ex girlfriend.....when they were replaced with the same in CD form! (Wish I had them today tho!)

I grew up listening to dodgy copies of AC/DC albums my babysitter sneaked me as a kid. Managed to complete my collection of AC/DC og vinyl a few years ago and then they released another one! Did you see Cars that Rock, a series Bryan Johnson the singer did for British TV? It was pretty good and had a lot of cool cars in it. I think there was 6 episodes made. I still listen to a lot of rock now but I have also got a massive Hip-Hop collection, mostly new york stuff and everything Eminem has recorded. I have loads of country as well and one of my favourite ever songs is Willie Nelson "I'm my own Grandpa". I heard it for the first time when i was working in a local hotel for the summer and it nearly got me sacked as I was laughing so hard I couldn't work. When I'm building models I tend towards the Hip-Hop though I know its not to everyones tastes. If I'm in a bar I play mostly Rock on the jukebox if its daytime or a bit of 90's dance if I'm out with my friends from school. I can listen to pretty much any music though apart from pipe band stuff (my sister used to play the pipes and I had no choice but to hear her learning and it was awful) except at hogmanay when they have to play "Auld Lang Syne"

I'll have to look for that one Stitch! Cars that Rock, I bet with Bryan Johnson doing something with it, it has to be good! Bryan still sing a bit for AC/DC or did Angus take over afterwards when he sand before? I know he did for awhile I just don't know who is doing it these days!
Bon Scott is a difficult one to keep up with I have to say, altho he had some interesting lyrics back in the day!

Angus has retired from the band a couple months ago due to altzeimers and Bon Scott passed away before Bryan got the singing gig. Bryan also has a book about cars out called "Rockers and Rollers" that isn't the usual car book, more of a laugh about what he got up to with them and still gets up to. Its worth a read but some of the humour may not translate to the US that well, YOU know the saying "2 countries sepperated by 1 language" well this book may prove it, but being car guys I'm sure it'll be fine. If you need any more details about the book feel free to ask and If I find a link to the tv series I'll post it here

Yeah I knew Bon Scott died back in what 1980 I think it was, and then Bryan Johnson took over the singing roll, and the he gave up singing and wasn't it Angus Young that took off from there as lead singer. But I was wondering if he's still singing for AC/DC as I'm just not sure....I haven't followed the band that closely.
And yes Malcolm Young was the one to retire and due to Alzheimer's, and his Nephew took his place, so its still in the "Young" family.....
