OK, my "spooky" build for the October MOTM is going to be a companion for my Munster Truck I built for last months MOTM monster trucks. I'm calling it "The Tombinator". Using an AMT 1/25 Dragula kit and an AMT 1/32 USA-1 monster truck kit. I'm using the chassis and tires/wheels from the USA kit. I thought the 1/32 wheels and tires were better proportioned for the Dragula body. And so it begins. I'm off to the work bench.

Should be a perfect companion to your other truck! I've been thinking about getting a drag-u-la kit just to steal the front axle/wheels and rear slicks from, how good do those parts look?

Skip, yer my kinda guy. love the idea of what yer doin' here and the Munster Truck....BOTH to compliment each other in a set......Be a cool line up on a diorama! GAWD, my only other thought is where in the history of the world do you guys cough up the monster truck parts so fast? I mean CRAP, I got the original USA-1 for my Dodge A100, for Dooms Day, BUT that I got from my Step-Sons pile of model mess.....I mean I haven't seen any since Unless you go to "addiction dot com" (AKA Ebay) and then ya looking at the price for used parts almost the cost of a new model......AND sad, I'm limited on ebay as it still won't let me in as it tells me my user name and or password doesn't exist....(I'm going back and forth with them on it.....) SO, trading right now or actually scratch building is all I'm able currently....BUT I got a ton of molding goin on so........I'll be back "mold building" as soon as thats done and over with! Which won't be long! I'm almost caught up! EDIT: My posting "528" ---> Mopar "528" Hemi, the 3rd in the Hemi line of second generation Hemi's offered in the 90's with a 102 C.I.D. over the original 426 Hemi.

Thanks Jesse. The Dragula parts are so so, not great but not horrible either. The tires are plastic with the rear slicks being two piece. The front spoked wheels don't look too shabby as long as you clean the flash out from the spokes. I don't have any real plans for the ones from this kit I'm cannibalizing, so if you PM me your address I would be happy to send the tires, wheels, front suspension, and a copy of the instructions.

deecee, Mike, and Paul, Thanks for the interest and comments. Have tomorrow off, so I plan on getting something done and progress posted by Monday evening.
Hemi, I have a Hobby Lobby and a Micheal's within 20 miles of me that I go by at least once a week and they always have 40% and sometimes 50% coupons for one single item. Micheal's always seems to have the 1/32 scale snap kit of USA-1 and Hobby Lobby always seems to have both the 1/32 snap kit and the 1/25 scale USA-1 Those damn coupons! I guess that's why I have 200 plus kits piled in my stash. I don't have an addiction. I can quit at any time.

Skip, Thats funny, as I too have both a Micheals and a Hobby Lobby not but a short drive away (1/2 hour travel time at the most) and EVERY TIME I go in, not one has the monster trucks, it has got to be an "area difference" thing from your local stores to mine!
BUT I too am addicted to the 40% and even ther 50% coupons at times, Thats how I got my first say, 10 models! LOL

Well I guess it's time for an update. Looking at where everyone else is on their builds I don't feel quite so far behind, relatively speaking. So for some pics and a bit of dialogue. To start I removed the upper part of the chassis from both halves. From some styrene rectangular tubing and .020", sheet I made some fillers for the spring/shock towers and made three cross members. Here I have glued the filler panels on and filled the hollow top side of the axle housings. The axle housing filler has been primarily sanded to shape and need another round or two of fill and sanding to final shape. Also removed the axle differential from the Dragula engine/trans assembly to attach a transfer case to the rear of the transmission. I will be reusing the differential as an input to the drive shafts at the bottom of the chassis. The chassis is together with the three added cross members in place. The re-purposed differential is now glued into the top of the connector box for the drive shafts. Now I have the Dragula frame attached to the modified truck chassis. This seemed the easiest way to mount the Dragula body and engine/trans to the truck chassis. The completed chassis in primer and ready for paint. Planning on getting more done tomorrow, but that's another day and anything can come along and foil my plan.

Thanks Frank, Dale, and Sharp. One of the big hurdles lately has been rain. It's been another rainy and humid summer here in my part of Florida, so getting time and weather to go together for painting has been a problem again this year. Did get some painting done this morning and evening though. Got the body painted and clear coated and also got the chassis, engine and wheel centers painted. The chassis and bits are actually a dark moss green. My lighting wasn't so great on those parts and they may look black. Still have to clear the green parts, but will have to let them dry and shoot the clear when I get home from work tomorrow.

Thanks Paul and Hemi. Well, it's almost finished. Just have to mount the body and install the steering column. Then it's time to take final pics and post in the completed. Going to try and do the body and column yet tonight, but will probably have to post pics in completed after I get home from work tomorrow. But for now here are pics of the completed chassis and engine. And a sneak peek with the body set on it. The finished pics will be in the completed section. Now I just have to take more pictures first.

Thanks guys. Yeah Ice, I wanted to do the Munster's cars as a pair of Munster trucks and the last couple of MOTMs prodded me into getting them done. Well I'm home from work today nursing a severely swollen ankle and can barely walk, so I'm doing a couple extra things to it before taking the final pics. Whipping up a little extra touch for "The Tombinator". I'll just say somebody dropped by to check it out and wants to drive it.
