I luv the modifides! There are so many things one can do with one, from box stock to earlier modified with an old flathead, to one with some battle damage. So many good things!

NICE start on the project!!!! The engine, looks like a Hemi, is it? even tho it has that look from the side, the Hemi valve cover, with the sort of roll in it, but its in a '37 Chevy, just makes me have to ask!?

I've had a few of these kits and all the same engine. Valve covers aren't on yet they are m/t valve covers. I think it's based on a chevy block

WELL this might be true on the Chevy based block, the pic you posted looks as tho the valve covers are on the heads, so.. WONDER if they used the first generation valve covers from the 331 up to the 392 Hemi which would look AWESOME in an old '30's car!!!!!
EDIT: Forgot to mention, That back in the day, guys were known to do such things if they found an old Hemi partially built and found that it make the 30's style car, GO and I mean GO!

Looking good Chris , I have a few of these kits the engine is a Big Block Chevy . The part that looked like a Hemi is the header flanges for the headers are molded on the heads .

Actually the header flanges on this are separate and I've ran into trouble with them. The holes for the headers don't line up at all. I'm most likely gonna have to put this on the back burner until I find a different set of headers

Hey Hemi here's the valve covers bud Chris, it has to be the positon or something the way the motor is setting in this pic: The heads make it look as tho they have that roll in them as the Hemi does....So, the heads on the motor, pretty big, that M/T valve covers are NICE! You plan to make them aluminum or leave them polished chrome? As the Mickey Thompson's normally were cast aluminum.....NICE model, VERY interesting on how they were made!

AHH HA, I see why now! There is a ledge or "step" in the head and from the angle of that first pic made it look as tho it had the valve covers on it.... In this pic it clearly shows it, it was from the angle the first one was taken, its an illusion, because of the pic angle and how the engine is setting!

They're gonna stay chrome as I have nothing to strip them right now. I need to find a set of amt headers from their nasdaq kits to stick on it
