wow, that is really nice! The colors work well together ! You said you wanted to start working on your detailing, just so you know you have about a month and a half still left. ( Am I right on that IceMan ?) I know how hard it is when you build something so nice to just put it out there right away, but you could have waited and done what ever else you wanted, you had the time.

Nice work mate, love the color scheme too, maybe throw some red in those tail light, would finish it up nicely.

If you do decide to add more detail, I would recommend replacing the pics with the final, final pics. Looks good already but any additional detailing will just increase it's value and popularity I bet.

First off, I still think this is a great build and I love the colors. One thing I am sure of is that every member does not know the limitations of the member next to him. Thus who are we to tell you to try harder or do more. Your build is great, but the comments made are genuine and I am sure done with love and respect. It is really up to you as you know what your limits are and when you have a good day versus a bad day. But here are some suggestions, since BMF is out try this, before installing windows use a silver sharpy marker to do your chrome if you error wipe it off. Paint the lenses of your tail lights red and white, front turn signals amber, a distributor and wires would look good, maybe a radiator hose, really any thing you can think of that makes it more realistic. Just some thoughts , but again I love it I just didnt want you to think it was due at the end of the month like other contests

Those are all really good details to add. But it's your build if you're comfortable with it leave it as is. Do as much as you feel comfortable doing. I have tried taking apart built kits, and I'm not always successful. I'd hate for the extra detail to cause a disaster to all your hard great work.

This paint looks awesome halfbreed. Other than adding some red to the tail lights, one thing I thought of that may be cool and easy, hang some fuzzy dice from the mirror! Maybe you could find a small 1/24 puppy to have leaning out the passenger door as well. Those small details, like you said, are getting tougher for me as well. I don't shake like you do, (oh yeah - I will have a strawberry shake by the way! LOL), but ever since I had Lasik done, I lost my close up vision. I now have been trying new kinds of reading glasses every other week it seems. But honestly, I think this is a nice clean build, since you still have lots of time, maybe set it aside to walk by and look over now and again, I am sure something will hit ya out of the blue that you can add if you want. But for sure, I love the way it is looking - awesome work my friend!

SIDE NOTE - IF ANYONE IS CONSIDERING LASIK VISION SURGERY - THINK TWICE - 5,000 bucks later, sure I can read better, but my night vision, and my close up vision have suffered greatly. I personally wish I had not had the surgery, for once it is done, you are STUCK with the results. I know a lot of others that love their results, but as for me, it is sub-par at best.

Maybe consider a pre wired distributor. Thats what I use, saves time and I too get the shakes. Also check out Hemis "Dooms Day" monster Truck build he has great pictures of his motor before and after wires, he shows the bare distributors and the holes drilled for the plug wires ( of course his are in the valve covers because its a Hemi ) jerryscherrys.freeforums.net/thread/2482/dodge-doomz-monster-truck-build?page=1

-I think it looks GREAT, you can take a box stock model and still make it look good if you paint well! Not all of us are pro's at detailing or painting....I myself have learning to do as far as auto models go, but you guys ought to see the 1/87th scale stuff, I've made! Model Railroading.... Thing is, we all have some sort of limit, sure! BUT this one turned out GREAT, Ebay buy, right? basket case or new model? Thats the REAL question..... EDIT: <--- My posting "444"
Mopar RB block type "444" was the "Ball-Stud" Hemi, that was ment to replace the 426 Hemi, AND ALL of the other engines types made by Mopar in '72

I know I'm striving still! I have yet to use or try Bare Metal Foil, so.... And I'm just now experimenting with Flocking so. these 2 things I NEVER used not one time! SO.....We'll see!
Granted, looking at my engine builds you'd think better but, I know that sort of "detail" I have a knack for anyway...
But, thats me, and you will get there if you strive I am thinking forward in what I strive for and thats what all ought to do, OR well strive forwards in what you feel comfortable doing. nothing that is uncomfortable doing.....Then it won't be fun no more, right?
And FUN is what it is to be! I love building and detailing engines I'm gonna make a 1/14th-1/25th scale "engine display" no cars, no exhaust pipes, just engines with transmissions, just because I enjoy building and detailing them! BUT thats a ways off! I want to complete a few cars first....
HAVE FUN tho, thats what its all about!

halfbreed, Thanks for the compliment on my engine builds.....A LOT more to me then just engines tho as you'll see over time!
Remember we just kinda spoke about "flocking"? WELL, I think i have that down BUT am still sort of experimenting with it, and different types of materials used for it....So far, so good tho!
As far as Bare Metal Foil, I have yet to get that far on a car body, so.....We'll see! Some fine damned brush work in a car body thats a location not getting flocking I have to say, I never looked at interiors as I do now, (a bit of a better "detail" eye for it I guess! (I see more possibilities now then I ever did in the past!)
Keep striving tho, it comes easy for some things and more difficult for other things, all depends on what your striving for as far as looks are concerned, on what any one item looks like when your done!

well man, i think it looks great just as it sits. the colors look great together and it's got a good stance. other than the red and amber for the signals, the only suggestion i might make would be a stripe where the two colors come together. just my $.02

Really a nice clean build Breed! Sweet two tone paint job and killer engine! Nice wheels too! Good Job! Yes, keep trying something new. Gives you golden opportunities to learn and grow. {My wife hates it when I tell her that.} but it's the truth.

Looks great halfbreed. Nice colors and clean build. As far as details go, you just have to do what you're comfortable with. I started by working out one or two at a time on a build I was doing. A lot of times they don't work out the first, second, third or more times, but I will keep working on different ways to try it and try again on the next build. Sometimes it is the material used, sometimes it is the tool or tools to do it with, sometimes it is how I have to position my arms or hands. Then sometimes it is all those things. Just keep trying though, because the biggest satisfaction is when you finally do get it to work out, even if it is only once.
I like it. Great build. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon
