Idea - what would everyone think about offering members to sign up for a "Secret Santa" type contest thingy for the upcoming holidays?
Not sure how we could work it though, here is where the ideas are needed. Maybe everyone who registers for it, could be somehow paired up with another participating member. They send each other a kit, that cannot be opened until Christmas day - then post what you received and it's subsequent build. With a Secret Santa contest to follow where you must build and post by New years Eve? Kind of like the eBay challenge, but with much more stringent time restraint.
Just a thought, as we are all mostly stuck inside during this time and I know all you guys can knock out a kit in just days. Shoot, I am actually setting myself up for failure on this one, as I can barely open a darn kit to get started! LOL |

Haha! That's a great idea. Such a great idea that Beast did this one last year. February's MOTM was "look what I got for Xmas" theme. So only folks that participated in the gift exchange were able to play that month.
When we did the voting for MOTM themes for 2015, that one didn't seem to get enough votes. What I did to try to address it was make February open build month. You could use the Xmas gift for that month. Now that's my initial thought at this time. But it could all change.
Beast? Did you have something else planned for this upcoming holiday season?

Hmmm - maybe a pre-painted metal kit might work? You could always go nuts customizing one of those

Ha ha ha oh I love the idea !!!! Yes I would love to keep the Secret Santa going but we are just to packed to squeeze in a separate contests just for the christmas gifts ( this is why we had it as a motm ). Since I am not a big fan of "open" contests, I would be happy with Keeping the Secret Santa just as we had it and using the Feb. Open MOTM as the platform . Of course if you want to be in the secret santa program you have to give as well as receive.You do not how ever have to be in the motm contest ( there are afew that cant paint until warm weather ), but the catch is if you "dont" take part in the secret santa exchange you "can not" be in the Feb MOTM. IceMan I thing once you have your 2015 Themes set with open as Feb we should hold a vote explaining the Christmas Exchange and how idt would affect Feb MOTM and let the members vote ( christmas exchange or just have an Open Feb build ). Also I dont think I ever got any feedback on 2015 Themes for Bracket Racing so we need to revisit that also.

Sounds good. I will set up the open build vs secret Santa exchange poll for the weekend. Will setup up the one for bracket racing also. We can probably use a similar list like we did MOTM. Just add whatever has been suggested.
