Well everyone, my name is John, I'm a model builder, (OF MANY types), rail AND auto, and currently taking a break from the model railroading, as you may see in time. I am however a AVID Mopar builder. (My train collection will explain what I'm about to say!) I HAVE TO limit myself! If I don't, God himself only knows of the size collection I'll wind up with and HO scale trains, really are small, 1/24th and 1/25th scale models, not so much! A bit more difficult to display in any case! Favorite motor I think with my user name says it all, any of them, from those in the early 1950's to the present day Gen 3 engines, BUT I favor the '64 "426" known as the "Elephant"!!!! I personally do not own one, (maybe someday heres to wishful thinkin') but I do own a '67 Dodge Power Wagon.....powered with a 383, and ready to go when I bought it as an every day truck, right now, its got a bit of work being done to it as i found at the beginning of the summer it needed 2 new frame cross members when I was replacing the factory '67 fuel line! As it merely got to seemingly starving for fuel in the winter this year.... ANYWAY, I will leave you with..... A Hawk Models quarter scale 426 Hemi model, made from a Christmas gift, that my Dad got me, and he an I spent a couple late nights together watching me build it, and arguing over things on it and such....good memories, I lost him, this past March! This "Lamp" resides by me and my Wife Bed side, its my "Night Stand Light" with a black lamp shade on it..... Will post models as I am able!

Welcome John , Im Grandpabeast, myself and Iceman think we've put together a pretty good place here for use all to build and shoot the bull. We have under construction and finished threads for and thing you want to post and if you are so inclined we have contests. Me and Iceman give out prizes and prize packages for all of our contests ( members have donated kits and cash to the club but it is not a requirement ( see Donation hall of Fame ). Each month we have bracket racing ( see rules ) and a Model of the Month ( MOTM see rules ) contests and then there are always other contests popping up. We have an interesting one that just started ( sorry your to late for it ) its our second E Bay challenge . So look around and check things out ask if you have any questions

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to be here, I've got A LOT to post of WIP to say the least, (I haven't got much "finished" yet as honestly, I'm just getting back into it as far as car models are concerned. See, I didn't "stop" modeling, (I was modeling trains of a few different scales) And doing that for almost 20 years, yeah, I needed to take a step back, and my Dad is how that happened. Before he passed, my Step-Mom found a model of a '39 Chevy Coupe, and asked if I'd assemble it for my Dad, as his REAL one! (This happened AFTER they got me the Hawk models 426 Hemi engine models....My Dad got me the one seen here as the "Street" version, and the following day, my Step-Mom got me the 426 Hemi "Pro-Stock" model....I began to assemble the first one at my Dads home in Pennsylvania, on his dining room table. While he and I argued on how the head was to go onto the block, (whole other story) and I just sat there just after he went to bed, and looked, I had the block, the heads, and the oil pan together, and I said to myself, "I display all those HO scale trains, how in the H*ll, do I display this? ITS HUGE!" WELL thats when it dawned on me to make it into a lamp, and I told my Dad the next morning that thought and as you see, he helped to make that happen....He did as much on it as I did and supplied all the "junk" but usable light parts to make it into a lamp!
VERY fond memory, even tho we argued on the blocks assembly at 1:30 in the morning LOL
Want to see more of my "WIP" go have a look in the Truck area of the WIP forum areas. I'm headed there, now!

Hello, John. Glad to see you've jumped on and started posted right away. It's great when out hobbies bring us fond memories of friends and family. We hope that the times we spend here will become memories in the future. As Beast said, and I'm sure you've noticed, we have a lot going on each month. Maybe you'll get a chance to jump into one of the contests....assuming you finish one of your builds of course haha. Many of us are in the same boat. More started kits than finished ones.
Welcome!

Thanks Gentlemen! I'm pleased to be part of a "active" forum.....I am an avid modeler....Thing is, I've taken a step back........ really, I was always a auto modeler, but hid it for many years as I was making custom Trains of stuff no "big Company" made, SO, really I'm a Model Railroader with a bit of Auto interest and that stems from my teenage years....Its been since then that I have really got into model cars...My Dad brought it back out into the light some 20 years later, due to him buying me the 426 Hemi quarter scale model seen above as a lamp....My Step-Mom just further that when she got him a model of his real car, a '39 Chevy Coupe, and asked me to build it for him, and then got me the other 426 Hemi Model that is the Pro-Street version of the one my Dad got me....So, thats where it all re-opened for me, and here I am, almost 20 some models back into model car building.....
GREAT to have a place to share it tho, back when I last done it, I didn't even have the computer, or internet to share it so......
