That's a great star. Looks like a lot more hours to go, especially with the interior. But I like it.

Here's mine, with a 6" scale, and 4' scale section, and extension, the top will be chopped a full 3" scale wedge, will finish this when I get all the wood, yep the interior will be like a captains quarters of a pirate ship, inspired from a song by Ronie James Dio, here is the Gypsy Queen, nice start by the way.

Thanks Iceman, it is looking like the worst is yet to come. Getting the interior set up. Still have no clue of how I want it done yet, gonna wait until the exterior is finished and tackle the innards later. Wow Gothicz, that is one super stretch. And I though one cut was hard to get straight, you've got three! Good luck with that one. Pirate's interior sounds cool. Might just go with the "Whoopee Wagon" theme since I just about have this one female figurine sculpt finished and it would never get a G rating. Might look good in the back compartment.

Shaggin wagon, eureka! That'll work. Just have to make some mini-pasties to keep it clean for the forum.

I have some figure you might be able to use. They are from the Fast Women sets. Maybe by the time you finish I can cast some copies. They aren't naked but I think if you open the rear doors and out a little rotating or vibrating bed, you can set her in there.

Well, day 2 is here and this is the progress so far; Using Aves Epoxy Putty, the flares around the rear fenders were shaped and blended in roughly. The entire floor area was sectioned together from the two kits (Dirty Donny's Vantasy and an A-Team Van). A section of .100 Sheet plastic was shaped to add as a bulkhead of sorts for strength. In it was cut a 1 1/2" hole for access to the bed area. The rest of the bed area was built up with .030 plastic and a stowage area for a spare tire was added under the bed. There's still alot of trimming and sanding to get a better fit on the bed and the rear fenderwells need to be built up. But, all in all it's coming along as planned! Those female figures sound interesting Iceman. I'll give you a holler when I'm that far (won't be for a while though!).

Sounds food. Good job on the fabricating. With the Idea you have, maybe open op that round hole a bit more. I'm thinking a square or rectangle with round corners and maybe some curtains to separate the sitting area and the bed or something. I know you still have some more work on but just a suggestion.

Now that's a "Shagin Wagon" lol. Nice work so far! I would leave the round hole for the rear to front access and add some nice round porthole windows in the sides to go with that theme.

Thanks alot for all the comments Guys, gives me that right incentive to move forward at a quicker pace. Heck, I'm getting anxious to get it to the painting stage. Got some fabric at a material store that looks like scale fur somewhere in this mess of a shop. Have to go on a hunt! The wide tires/wheels for the rear came in the mail today so that's one less thing to think about. Forward March!!!
Looks like I'll have to leave the round hole there, it would require tearing out the wall to reshape it. Of course, there's a custom C-Cab on the bench that will get a porthole leading to the back area and that one will be about 80% scratchbuilt.
A quick word to those starting out with scratchbuilding; If you ever need larger areas filled-in or need to reshape body parts, get ahold of this Aves Epoxy putty. It can be smoothed-out with a wet finger. It can also be shaped and or smoothed with water, just use a paintbrush. I can't recommend this stuff enough. It's also safe to use without gloves.

Day 3- The original GMC Grill was torn out as I remembered the Custom one in the Dirty Donny kit and added it to the front. The front spoiler section from the A-Team kit was cobbled together then smoothed in with Aves Epoxy Putty. Then I also found these cool roof windows and cut openings for them to fit over, now I won't need lights in the back (or will I??). The rain gutter was slowly replaced using .020 plastic rod. This was rather nerve wracking! The side "hatch" was cut out and will be replaced by a flip-up door. This might be it for this week boys and girls. Got a deadline for a Master coming up and need to finish it.

That looks very good. The windows are a nice touch. How easily does that epoxy putty sand?

Thanks again Guys. The Epoxy Putty sands up great and is easier to contour. All you need is a wet paintbrush and work slowly. Once mixed you have about 30 minutes to shape it. If you don't have it in your "arsenal", get some!

Thank you for all the comments. All I have to say is that it is good to be back, especially in the company of some great Modelers! Next I'll be cobbling together a stretched frame, had to make a makeshift jig to get it straight. The dual rear axle setup should be interesting, hopefully the military vehicle type setup will work.

Thanks Coyote! I've learned over the years that things are never, ever, as hard as they look. It's just a matter of diving in there and giving it your best. Wish I had a dollar for every time I screwed something up and pitched it in the trash, heck my Great Grandchildren could retire comfortably as soon as they were born!
Iceman, was doing some thinking. I went to the website where the Fast Women are sold and looked everything over. I might just take my sculpts, break them down and cast up copies. They should be ready in a couple weeks and I'll post them here on the forum with some others.
