I was moved to build this car in the year 2002, following the tragedy that was 9/11. This day will forever be one of my darkest memories. As a kid, I watched the towers being built, I played in the lobbies as a young adolescent, and when the towers were no more, it left an empty spot on my soul, as it did for so many. I know, it is nothing more than a 90's Mustang, but when I found this in a box of broken up Mustangs. I thought it fitting to "Re-Build" what was, as we all had to do following 9/11. I added some flocking, touched up what I could. Gave it a quick paint and this was also my first attempt at making my own decals. I have become much better at this, so I should probably make a new tribute car these days. But this one is near and dear to me as I built it, remembering and vowing to "Never Forget"

I just found this CC. You did an excellent job on this tribute. Very nice detail in that engine bay! Excellent!
I well remember that day. I had just lost everything I had to a flood. Both of my cars, all of our clothes and furniture. The black mold was in our walls so the house had to be rebuilt from the floors on up. I was laying on a mattress on a frame, only furniture we had left, in the living room when the guys rebuilding my house came crashing through the front door hollering " turn on the TV!" I turned it on and started the tape machine just as the second plane crashed into the tower. I stayed home that day and taped everything. Later I lost the tapes to another flood.

Thanks Big D - man, you sure were going through a lot back then - but am glad you are still here and kicking it old school!! LOL
Hemi - I printed these decals myself, pretty easy to do really, but then again quality would be much better from someone who uses an ALPS printer. One if these days I just may get one, but you can drop thousands on one of those - would have to try and make / sell custom decals, AND ALOT OF THEM, to pay for such an investment, LOL So I just make simple ones when I have the chance

Tom the Quality looks GREAT to me! I once had an Alps, many years ago.....When I was printing my own railroad decals for the model trains and all...... I got such a supply of them, I won't have to print or buy ANY for the next 10 years LOL
SADLY tho, I wasn't into car building and was making a living from the trains so.....RATZ! Boy, how I could have a blast making car decals now!

Very nice build and excellent tribute Tom. I remember that day well, as I know many do, and I really never imagined that my youngest son, 10 years old at the time, would do a tour in Afghanistan related to it 10 years later. Again, nice tribute build. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon
