Well, I actually was focused on a build and somewhere in the middle of waiting for paint to dry and glue to cure I had a 'ooh, look at that squirrell' moment. What folllows this story is some pictures of my very first attempt at chopping a top on a model. I started with an old LRE cab I had pictured early on in one of my truck threads, (the red cab with the white fleetside bed) and stripped all of the paint I could get off. I skipped around a bit with the pictures and might have missed some cutting pics but I tried to get them as best I could.

Here starts the fun, getting this roof to fit right. In one of the pictures you can see I added some sheet styrene to the 4 roof pieces to help with structural integrity and aid in mounting the four roof pieces. I also filled the voids with material from a doner roof.

These last pics are after the second wave of bodywork and for a great guy a pic of the donor cab he sent me. Now you get to see what it gave its life for LOL!!!

Well, thats about it for this cab as it sits at the moment. I am not sure if its going to be a stepside or fleetside when done. I do know it will sit low and be painted a very wild color!!
