A week or so ago I won this Dodge for $9.00 & it arrived Friday After opening it I soon found it to be in better shape than the ad pics showed After leaning back in my chair for a minute I realized there were two trucks there when I add one of my Warlocks & make the LWB a 2WD

Hey DA, I bid on the red one he had and got it. Mine was a good kit to, much better than the picture. Mine looks pretty much like yours now but its because mine slapped the floor from eye height. Most of my suspension broke on impact so its went in the box for another day when I have time to figure out what to do with it. What are you going to make out of yours? Chas.

The LWB truck will become a 2WD with LRE or Warlock wheels & camper shell & the Monster suspension will be put on a new LRE chassis & done as a Warlock to bookend my real Warlock Just as my ProStreet LRE will bookend my original issue LRE

looking good so far. Im gonna bid on another one at some point. I have plenty to keep me busy so it can wait. I also want to build an LRE with the big tires on it to go with the pro street. I am also going to build a matching LRE but it will be a 79. I almost snagged a Pumping Iron truck for the correct hood and grille but passed on it. Got time and lots to build. When the right one comes along I will get it. My chop top is going to be a partner truck to the other pickup I am doing with the SRT stuff and will be set up pretty much the same. I am in the truck thingy right now so I am going to keep at it on them. Did you ever get that Sweptline Crew Cab? I would love to see what you do with that one. Chas.

$120, WOW? Little steep there bud. Im a cheap guy and $30.00 bucks is a bit high for me. I have paid a bit more than I wanted on Ebay for about 5 models that in hindsight I should have passed on. Gotta get past the want part and focus on the need part a bit more. I think I am going to lay low on truck bids. The last few it seemed like the price was just being raised up and as sudden as the bidding was like battle it went away just like that. I did not go way out there but came pretty close on two. That $120.00 for that Sweptline is way outside what I would pay! Chas.

Monogram/Revell made a 79-80 RamCharger I've never interchanged parts between them so I don't know if they will fit

I have seen a kit opened and the pumping iron truck had a 79 grille and hood. I am not sure 100% if it was the original kit. I did see a built up on ebay and it had the 79 hood and grille and the box showed a 78 grille and hood. Im going to have to do some research because the only other kit is the fire fighter (expensive) and I cant see spending that much to get the look I want. The Revell/Monogram stuff might work. At least the hood could be filed down. Not so sure about the grille being 1/24th scale? I do have a NOS 73 grille I could use but that one is in reserve for a very special build I want to do to a stepside. Like the story goes, I have lots od truck builds swimming around in my head. I still do not have a Warlock so one of those will have to be picked up along with a 75/76 long bed. Just going to keep an eye open for the right kits and the right time. We have a couple of swaps on the horizon around here. Maybe one of them may net a good truck kit or two? Chas.

I will let you know, I am tempted to bid on another monster truck listed but it has like 7 bids on it already so I am guessing that one will end up high. Forget anything to do with fire fighter kit. They are WAY too high for me. I noticed you showed a sealed kit on the pumping iron. Someone else told me the box shows a 78 but its 79/80 inside. I have seen a couple that were 79/80. Wonder if that extra plastic with new 1980 model means its a 79/80 in the box??? I am going to be looking around for pictures of an open kit and perhaps if one shows up for less than $75..00 buy it now I may have to get one. I have decided to work on my SRT 8 Truck and get it closer to or done soon. Going to hit the interior and do the mods and paint. This one needs to be finished!! Chas.

I scored another Sidewinder sealed in the box for $5.00 & $4.50 shipping looks like V10 time for a Dodge truck
Pumpin Iron trucks go up & down like a roller coaster I don't remember ever seeing a 79/80 grille & the one that I have is a built & it had the 77/78 style in it when I got it

Yeah, I am not sure so im going to keep looking. My want is to build a 78 and 79 LRE. I will find the stuff at some point. No hurry as I have lots of other builds to keep me busy. Been doing some research the Little Red Wagon. I have a couple of kits handy. Want to build an early and late version of that truck. The later one with the blown hemi and the fat slicks with the center driving seat is way cool. I would like to recreate that one. There is going to be lots of trucks on my shelves. Im also going to do one of the 700 Tractors just because I like them. No trailer in mind, just the tractor. Chas.

If you buy a opened or partial kit that's missing something I'll probably have it for the L700
I've gained a couple LRW trucks over the last few months One will be a street rod style with a tunnel rammed 340 the other slammed & ProStreeted like I built one 20-25 years ago

Chucky Likey, Im building one too and it will look about the same. Lowered, same wheels, differnt colors. We will have to compare. You do better work so yours should be nicer but im gonna get one together anyhow. I want a big stash of trucks on my shelf and these Dodge trucks fit the bill nicely! Chas.

Long bed trucks are often built on this scale. This one looks like it has potential. Waiting on more.

Thanks Y'all! I've painted the interior red & left the original builder's paint alone on the seat belts & instrument bezel been digging for some thin wheel backs for the front I've been thinking this grille & put a Volt/Vac on the left & Tach on the right in the dash bezel like a real truck

What about the D O D G E letters on the hood? As for them wheel backs just file them down with a flat file and also the backs of the fronts too. Most times there is enough extra plastic to work with. I got one for you bud. Thinking of a Ramcharger built out of an LRE kit. Might be an interesting build. Would not want to get into a big contest with you on who can build the best one because I would lose but since its pretty much just you and I on these Dodges might be cool to see who can come up with a nice conversion. Whatcha think??

I've got the kit that NOS grille goes to with everything except the bed,4wd suspension,& chassis plate
As far as building a RamCharger I'm going to get a body kit from a resin caster & build from there

Someone really needs to start casting components and conversion kits for these Dodge trucks. I would really like a 1979 grille for one of my Ram Chargers plus some decent, organized looking wheels. I really do not like the deep dish wheels that came with the old MPC long box trucks.

I could cast grilles, BUT would need a "master copy" to use.....I'd just have to have someone that has those models supply a grille, and that get 'em a extra grille for the cause.....
