Hi guys, just want to warn you all about this guy on E Bay selling resin bodies and hoods, he goes under the name of rdsxfan2, I ordered a resin body on the 10th April still not received it and he has not returned my e-mails asking where it is, I have taken out a ebay claim still no reply. BEWARE.

Glad you're taking things into your own hands and opened a case. I had to do the same thing to get things moving with him after a month. Promised free parts and discounts and partial refunds and saw nothing. Eventually got. Y parts. Not the quality I hoped for either.
Good looking out.

I do as well appreciate the heads up on this. I was just looking at some resin bodies of his. I was thinking to try some of this resin stuff all you talk of here on the site. Never tried this stuff yet, except for now. I am using a resin hood on a Camaro, ALOT of sanding, but I guess this is the way it goes with resin?

There are some casters out there that are fantastic, like Ed Fluck and Modelhaus, but you pay more for the quality. I got some stuff from Early Years Resin the other day that wasn't cast very well, but I've read other places that his stuff is great lol. You just have to do your research on the caster and hope they aren't using worn out molds.

My rule of thumb, never buy resin from eBay, ever! I get all my resin from Steve Kohler over at star resin, couple of ppl sell there, Ardvark, ummmm Jimmy Flintstone, just to name 2, and I have heard some mean stuff about UnReliable Resin too ( R+R ) resins, but to each there own, I learned the hard way with ebay.

Hey, this is great, I got burned by this guy as well. I never received my Chevelle AWB resin body from him. It became such a hassle I just ate the 25.00 and lesson learned. I wish you well with your claim.

I purchased a QUICK CHANGE rear end from him. 1st off: after 2 weeks I contacted him, he said ,"I sent the item". Mind you, NO TRACKING. After 1 more week, I contacted again, and asked if he would resend the item, & if the 1st item showed up, I would happily return it to him. He groused about it, & I stated that going to PAY PAL for a total sale of $4.45,was a waste of time. Finally , after 2 more weeks, it showed up. (The 2nd item. ) Never did see the original item... When I went to assemble the part, it was TOTAL JUNK. The axle ends were cast out of parallel & it took more time to repair than the part was worth. SO, DO NOT BUY FROM HIM!!!

Thanks for the update Rick. The seller has changed his ID a few times. Buttercup was one that claimed husband left stuff behind hen she was gone. I believe the latest he or she or they are using is t.m.resin. Back when he first started he had some wonderful items, then things just went south. Bad feedback, not fulfilling orders, crap casting, you name it. Not sure how it is all not, but I avoid him at all costs. This is only my personal experience btw.

Rick, you could try a website called the Modelhaus. They've been around quite a few years and I hear that their quality is good. I just placed my first order with them, so I'll be able to post pictures and critic them once they arrive (4 to 6 week delivery time, as they make them once ordered) Hope this helps!

AK how do you find anything there? I started going there a couple of years ago but couldn't figure out how to see their products. I tried their search but you almost have to know what you want to find anything it seems to me. I would just like to see what they have to offer but I can't seem to find a way to do that. I would hear about things they have I was interested in but couldn't find them. I finally gave up. I am still interested in what they have though.

You can PM me what you're looking for from them and I can try and help you out. Their site is kinda hard to navigate, but their parts are beautiful!

AK, Thanks for the tip. I have bought from ModelHaus in the past. He does have NICE stuff. I bought on Ebay as I was looking for that item, at that time . I needed it to complete a build, for a contest.. BUT, I will only buy from ModelHaus & other REPUTABLE casters, now.I tried to get it QUICK & CHEAP...ALL I GOT was AGGREVATION......

Regardless of what you order with Modelhaus, you can rest assured that it will be top quality. I've ordered tires from them and I love their different white walls. I have some of their resin bodies and they are perfect. They will never add pics to their site. They've already said that before. I've also heard that because of their upcoming retirement, they don't want to raise the number of orders they already have. Their orders for bodies, they quote 4-6 weeks.

If you search on Fotki Drastic Plastics Model car club They have pictures of nearly everything from Modelhaus. I found them by doing a search for Modelhaus images. I've been waiting 5 weeks for my order but I'm confident it will come soon. public.fotki.com/jsharisky/modelhaus_resin_items/
