Alright folks so while the Catalina sits in the paint booth drying, I had to start something else. I know we all say we're builders AND collectors, but my the amount of resin that I have accumulated is getting ridiculous. forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon Most of them have donors already thank goodness, phew-smiley-emoticon so I just need to build them. I've made a commitment to myself. Although I've built a few of them, from now on, every other build has to be a resin piece. Let's see how that goes. prayer-hands-smiley-emoticon
So anyways, this next piece will be as the title says. I have two of these so this is my first one. No customization on this one. Not even sure if I will stick an engine in it since the business and paint job will be the main focus. I'm thinking a two tone paint job and a decal on each side panel for a business. Still haven't decided what. I've thought of a few, and maybe those of you that may have seen these rolling around in your city can help me decide on something that has actually existed somewhere. Here are my ideas:
Flower shop - delivery service
TV Repair
Auto parts
Catering service
Plumber
and Newspaper delivery truck
Any ideas, fellas?
The donor will be the AMT 1951 Chevy Convertible. So far I've cleaned up the body and will lay some more primer this week. The primer it has was just a thin coat to see the imperfections from the resin. Here it is along with a mock-up of the stance I'm going for. A little higher in the back so its level I think. I do remember from building the stock 51 Fleetline that the front suspension is a little too far forward with these kits, so I'll need to keep that in mind.
