Ok, I'm doing a 69 Camaro....I have two kits in my stash, so you guys (and gals) can decide which one I should build! Poll will end in 3 days.

Hardtop! Either way it'll be great.

I see arguments for both, The convertible would be great if you were going to super detail the interior, but if you had not planed that then you might want to consider the hard top. Also the way in wish you planed to build it ( street , stock, drag, pro street, gasser, custom ) would also dictate which would be the better choice. I am going to vote convertible because you just dont see that many sweet ones built and I know you can do it justice. Good luck my friend!

Oh man. I'm imagining a two tone paint hob of course. Customs wheels. Cowl hood. And an aggressive stance!

I will be going in different directions depending on which one I build, but I'm not going to divulge that information until after the voting!

Ok, votes are in and I'll be building the hardtop for this challenge! The convertible was a close second, so I'll build it (as the factory stock pace car) in the near future and post it for all to see! In the mean time the hardtop will get modern upgrades to the suspension and rolling stock. It will get an orange paint job with white Z-28 stripes and have a white interior. I thinking about adding newer camaro seats, or maybe a custom set of bucket seats. Anyway, here's the required initial kit photo.

Nice. I see the hardtop won... These babies are cool pro street.. I considered going Pro Street with this by using the chassis from AMT's 66 Nova kit, but decided I wanted to try something a little different. Since I've never build one touring style I thought I'd give it a try! Here it is mocked up with the rims and tires from an AMT 71 Duster street machine. I'm leaning heavily toward using these! Here another shot

Nice look AK. A little bigger size in back would be a wicked Pro touring.. Just a thought..

Nice look AK. A little bigger size in back would be a wicked Pro touring.. Just a thought.. I have some bigger wheels that I could use. I liked the ones from the Revells new 70 Cuda kit, however all 4 are the same size and I kind of like the rear tires being a bit larger that the front. I'll try to post a mock up with those wheels tonite.

Those look really good AK. I do have to agree with junkman on the tire sizing though. Also 19" wheel on the front with a 20" on the rear using a little taller and wider tire usually looks really good. If you can just find a little taller tire for the rear to go on those wheels, that would really kick on this. I know it's hard finding just the right ones though, as I am going through it right now on my '69 Nova build.
