Best body style of vettes in my opinion. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Haven't build any corvette kits, but when I think about doing so, this is always the kit that catches my eye.

Split window Vette! Is this where the name Stingray came from? due to the strip running down the middle of the rear glass and having an arrow shape on the rear deck? Someone told me that years ago....I've never reseached it....Anyway, I've never seen one of these built, and will be following closely!

Most excellent choice for a build. I have built this one a few times, lots of potential. Looking forward to seeing your build of it.

I appreciate the comments. The split window corvette has to be my favourite body style. I've actually bought another 63 Corvette model today due to all of the engine choices and different hoods. I see why you've built this one a few times Skip-O-Matic. I've started working on the body today. I had to remove a fair bit of flash from the body. I also scribed the panel lines. The lines around the doors needed some work. I've wet sanded the body with 800 grit and I'm hoping to get a coat of primer on it in the next few days. There will be more pictures to come. Andrew

She was hotter than a two dollar pistol, she was the fastest thing around. Long and lean every young mans dream, she turned every head in town. She was built and fun to handle son, I'm glad that you dropped in. She reminds me of the one I loved back then....(sorry, I do live next to Nashville you know!)

Love the song AK! Thanks Junkman. You can say that again Doc O. I just put the first coat of primer on the body and the underside of the hood today. I still have some flash to remove on the tops of the fenders. I'll upload some pictures later today.

As promised, I have some pictures. I removed the fuel injection and stingray lettering as I have ordered photo etch. I have a bit of flash left to remove from the body and some general clean up. The underside of the hood is going to need some work. I'm hoping that I'll be able to work on it this weekend. Unfortunately I have exams next week so time is at a premium. Andrew

Thanks gardnerpag44! Hey Doc O, I bought the photo etch from modelcargarage.com. They have quite a large selection of photo etch to choose from.

I know you're glad to get the exams behind you! high-five-smiley-emoticon Are the front seats molded into the interior bucket? This must be some really old tooling. That would explain so much flash too. It's going to be great to follow along with this build!
