Thanks guys! I hope I can at least make it look decent. My old hands are not steady anymore and just got back into this after about 50 years out of it. Painting is going to be my main issue. I am on oxygen and the fumes will kill me. But I'll do my best.

well, if it's molded in red, maybe you can just polish it out? save the paint fumes....

It's white but I'll come up with something. Maybe have the old lady paint it.

Have you tried Createx water based acrylics? Might be easier on your lungs and they spray so smooth, unless you don't have an airbrush lol. Look forward to following along.

No airbrush yet but soon. I will be very careful guys. Don't want to end up in ER again. I may make a booth with an exhaust fan and I have a mask

I have some small 110v fans, if you're wanting to build a little booth they may be useful to you. They're about the size of computer fans. If you want a couple just let me know!

This kit looks like it is well engraved and highly detailed! I have one, but used the engine on another project. The plan is to install a small block and replicate one that a friend of mine had back when I was a teenager. Can't wait to see this one start to take shape!

Well, I took an inventory and am missing some front end parts and rear glass. Time to go to Fleabay and see what I can find. I also will be in the hospital for a few days for tests. Sure am glad we have the time we do.

Your welcome ,I myself have never had that issue, but then i dont use afan. I found that out from another model site i belong to ,and one of the guys had a explosion! He was allright but had to change his shorts, shirt and a pair o pants. lost a few hairs also if i remember correctly. The fans on the store bought paint booths take that all into consideration!!

He was allright but had to change his shorts, shirt and a pair o pants. lost a few hairs also if i remember correctly. The fans on the store bought paint booths take that all into consideration!! You bring up a very valid point, but the motors on the fans I sent him are shaded pole motors and shouldn't be a problem. Plus I figured with his respritory problems he probably won't be spraying a lot of laqcuers, which is what I'd be worried about. I wouldn't have sent them if I thought he'd blow himself up using them lol. There shouldn't be any risk with using them with enamels, especially if you start the fans before spraying, and absolutely no risk from acrylics. I'm planning on building one tonight using the same fans and a clear storage tote. The biggest thing is to make sure there is a filter before the fans to knock down on the particles that get sucked through. Sorry for the long winded post, I hope that explains things a little more. Also I'm not trying to sound like I'm attacking you Doc, just trying to shed some light on this lol. Also sorry for the highjack Grumpy.

No problem Jeff and glad you and Doc are looking out for me. Just for safety sake, I am putting a little silicone around the cover where the wires go in the fan. I have already picked up the clear tote and filter for it. Thanks again you two!

Well, I am slow but getting started finally. This is a quick mock up. Going with these wheels instead of stock. Maybe slam it? Did some painting but taking pics and the camera quit. I need a new one. Now what color? MMMMMMMMM....... smileyCACETROO_zps365bb43e
