This mornng I drilled out the stems on the mirrors and also drilled a hole in each door. I installed #17 straight pins trimmed down to size. After these dry good I wil install them for good on the body. I hope this makes the mirrors a little stronger as I dont want thm faling off!

A little gap in building so I thought I would post these pictures, The exhaust is now done. I trimmed down the ends of the exhaust and added aluminum tubing cut down to simulate exhaust tips. In addition and Im very happy about this, I found the altered front tie rod / lower control arm trimmed down setup I carved up last year and also added this to the chassis. So at this time the Chassis and interior are done. Just odds and ends to do on final assembly now.

This series of pictures is of the pickup bed and cab. I ran into some difficulty with the exit of the exhaust. What I wanted was a hole in each side of the bed for an exhaust exit. The pipes are snugged up against the chassis and the only way to make this happen was to alter the chassis even more and refab new tail pipes. So.. I chose to notch the lower front wheel well radius for the exhaust because the exhaust was right along the bottom of the bed sides. On the cab the pinned mirrors are now secured to the doors and are not going anywhere now!

Thought an updated dual pose was in order. A little over a year ago I took a picture (its on page one of this thread) of both trucks next to each other. It does not look like much has changed but there has been a TON of work into both trucks since then. Im waiting on an aftermarket hood for the Slammer and its paint time for it. Also some grilles treated to a blackout in the recesses waiting to be installed on some of the other trucks I am building.

Thanks Paul, the rockers are getting a coat of white along with the fresh air hood. Unfortunately I have no experience with resin. I sprayed basic primer on the hood after i washed the hood in Dawn soap. Not knowing the paint would blister in spots I freaked out when it did. What I found out was the paint was actually lifting the primer and I was able to get 99.9% off with my fingernail. It has ben sanded and will require a bit more. The hood also has pits here and there so I have to apply some putty and block the entire hood. Guess a trip tp Hobby Lobby is in order to get some of the right primer? I painted up a stock hood for now and will use that if this other hood does not work out. Had some raised areas for chrome trim on the tail gate that had to be taken off prior to painting too. I thought and realized the only panel on the truck that has not been altered is the roof. Every other panel, the entire chassis, front and rear suspension, and even the motor, trans, and driveshaft have been altered. Its been a long time coming but the end is in sight. Just took the chop top pickup body and did a round of body work on the cab as well as added a few parts to the Prostreet stepside. These trucks are all going to be finished very soon. I cant wait. This one here though is my prize build. Im making this my first complete build and the first of I hope many posted to my soon to be open Gallery!!

The fresh air hood is a no-go. I have been working with it. Thought I had it smoothed out but that was not the case. A bit too much working it rounded a corner or two and the finish needs much more sanding. Maybe I can use this one on the chop top since its matte finish and it will look cool? I bought this hood from Harts Parts Resins. Its a nice hood on the top side but the bottom side is not very impressive to me. Its a bit thick in some areas and it had a bunch of little pits or holes if you will. That was not a problem. Just puttied the entire hood and sanded it off and no more little holes. The finish needs a bunch more so more sanding will be in order. Oh well, stock hood is already on the truck but I have one more in the works. I cut a shaped hole and molded in a shaker scoop from an AMT Challenger kit. At the moment its kind of ugly but maybe is will end up looking good after I get all the putty off of the hood and scoop?

Got the rockers painted up. Masked the whole truck up late last night and jumped on it this morning. Its looking better every time I get more of it done. Just a few small items left and some foil and this ones complete. The resin fresh air hood is not getting used. after two coats of putty and sanding it the hood just looks bad so its in the pile for the time being. This primered hood is my goofy attempt at a Power Bulge Hood. An AMT Challenger Shaker scoop was used. I filed down the hood so this would fit the hole snug, a little putty and my goal is to make it look like its one piece. This is the first fitment. Next is putty, sanding and hoping for a good result!
