Hi all, Doug and I were talking awhile ago about each of us building a Canepa Kenworth at the same time, and posting our individual progress in one topic, so this is the beginning of it smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f. so far, I managed to open the box and do some clean up on the body panels, I think this one is going to take me a little longer than my usual speedy month long build . I really want to do it two-tone or stripes or something, but I have to put a lot of the body together to pull it off, and not sure how I am going to approach it yet, sorta have colors picked out, but that could change . I think seeing as how I don't know how the paint job is going to work out, i'm going to break my habit of doing the body first, and start on the motor/frame and let my mind wander until I figure out the paint job [i'll probably get the cab/hood cleaned up and in primer anyway]. also, if any of you have the Canepa kit, or the T600A kit, and want to join in, jump on in stay tuned for updates.......... the kit,

Hey guys, Just like Tbill said, I will be building one as well, I will take things a bit slower on this one so you I can stay at pace with you guys. I actually started a day ago and I have somewhat completed of the chassis minus the engine in it. I will take some pictures in the morning to show you guys what I have, I have also assembled the cab as well. I just need to the painting on that so that will take sometime. Can't wait to see what we as a group have made. I'm still not sure what color I'm going to be doing mine.I will leave that as a surprise

and so it starts I started on the body parts and decided on my colors, not sure if it's going to come out like I picture it, but we will see. the cab itself cleaned up pretty quickly, as did the hood. the sleeper on the other hand is gonna take some time, but here is where I am so far, those seems were horrid, so out came the putty.. cab/main color, hood in second color, have to work it a bit more paint-wise, then mask it and do the main color, stay tuned...............

Cool! I have the T600A that I have had for several years and never started. If this can be a verrrry slow build, maybe I will jump in on the festivities. Been wanting to do a big truck build. Like what you've done so far Bill. Looking good.

Skip, I average about a month to build one of these things, so quick it ain't if you have one, break it out and get started on it. the more involved, the cooler it is.

well, making slow progress. frame is together and in black primer waiting for semi-gloss black, motor is half together waiting for primer, and sleeper is built and going thru rounds of sanding/putty/primer/sanding/ repeat process until insane. I have one side of the sleeper almost smoothed out, have a couple small gaps still to even out, but it's getting there. after the way the cab and hood turned out, I thought, heck, i'm gonna really get this one done in less than a month......then I started on the sleeper..............
anyone else making any progress?

Still have to dig my T600 out of the pile. Can't see it right now, but I know it is in there, three back and on the bottom of a pile five feet tall. I'll get it out this weekend. If you guys don't hear from me by Monday, I'm buried in an avalanche of styrene.

Skip, that wouldn't be a horrible way to go out lol. I built one of these many years ago (about 20 when I was 9 lol). I got the kit from my grandpa that worked for ertl in Dyersville Iowa event amt and ertl were still one. Its a very cool kit and I wish I still had it.
Tbill yours is looking great and I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

i'll look at the seat situation tonight and see if i can shed some light on it for you. i know the passenger side seat is goofy looking, it's the same set up as the kw i just completed.

Doug, the one that looks padded with the pattern is the drivers seat, the other 'two' seats glue to one another. one part is the bottom riser, and the other part is the actual seat.

Thank you tbill and Doug words appreciated tbill actually there's a little hook on the dash so the cord won't get caught up in the way of the shifter a lot of truckers around here do that
