I had this old kit built quite awhile ago. Its a Mustang II Pro Stock. It was bought by me new and it was a Autoscape Mustang II kit. This kit was built and moved around over the years. It was dropped and took a bad hit. It cracked a front fender and an a pillar. I stripped the body of the paint and decided to go a different route. Through another member I traded for a Fire Fighter Mustang II body that is on its way to me. I had picked up a trashed Fire Fighter kit at a swap for 3 bucks for some missing parts. I found out this kit is a bit different than the Autoscape kit. It appears like the 1 to 1 cars this autoscape kit is based on a 75 up Mustang II and the Fire Fighter kit is based on a 74 Mustang II By the grille area being thicker and the hood flat by the front. The autoscape kit has a skinnier grille area and the hood is a tad longer. Well one item that needed attention was the chassis. I thought mine was good but it was cracked. In the parts kit was a stock chassis. I looked and except for the smaller rear tubs the chassis was the same. I had to dremel off the tubs and file them to match the pro stock chassis. It is now a perfect match. I will post pictures Tuesday after work of the work as of now and update the models progress. I am going Dyno Don or making a Mustang II Stallion Edition out of it. Look for pictures as it gets built. Santa Chas.

Finished up the tires and wheels today. Aged them up a bit for a more used look. Working on the chassis today too. Should be a 'roller' by tonight. Will post more pictures later.

Its stance is the way I like it. If you look at pictures of Dyno Dons Mustang from back in the day this is how it sat. I was going to make a likeness of that race car but since I put tires on the car with tread im going another way. Im on the fence on color etc but it clearly is now Pro Street.

I just bought a semi built and painted Fire Fighter Mustang. I think im gonna tear it apart and build that Dyno Don car out of this one. It will just sit in a box for awhile as I want to get this Mustang done. Now I have an idea of a direction to go so its Pro Street (my favorite)and a snazzy color with the rockers blacked out should look nice. I think I know why I stopped building models I want to do so many but time is limited and I have lideas all over the place. I posted a trhread on trucks and pickups showing the Little Red Express I am bringing back to life for the umpteenth time. This time its slammed and will have a nice huffer sticking out of the hood. I am scratch building a rear frame for it right now. Problem is I can only work on one car at a time. S.C.

Soo... I am considered normal and there is nothing wrong with me right? my wife has threatened to put me on Ritalin. I counted, I am working on 10 different models. I do something to one and while waiting for it to dry I hit another one and fix or build something on it. This Mustang is getting the motor built now. At the same time I am building the back chassis for the truck, working on my Pro Stock 72 Old Pro nova with a one piece resin body, a later nova chassis and the look of this car reminds me of Grumpys Nova. I may just make it a Grumpys car. I have three Cuda's, a 65 Pro Street El Camino, some Road Runners and GTX cars in some form of build. I just finished packing up some kits I wont build or finish and will be shipping them out trading for some interesting Mopar stuff. I just found a guy today with yet another Fire Fighter unbuilt kit WITH Dyno Don Decals. Im going to pick it up Sunday. He has a few other kits too. Countryside Illinois has a show/swap on the 23rd so im going looking to score something good. I left this hobby 30 years ago and now being back I cant get enough. I am a bit upset though. I have been trying to score a 71 MPC Cuda body and found one on Fleabay. I bid on it and was sniped with just 1 minute left. I bid on 4 other Mopars and was sniped in the last minute. I really want that Cuda body and will find one but its official. I HATE EBAY!!! WOW!! S.C.

I used to have a shelf of all my started kits. Then I ran out of space so I said forget it! Sometimes I get bored of a build so I put it back in its box. I figure if I don't have parts from it on my bench, I'm not working on it. Now I call them my started pile, but they're all mixed together.
I sense a sore loser. Lol. Just giving you a hard time. Don't be mad at eBay. It's not the sellers' fault. Hehe! Let me give you some advice. And take it with a grain of salt. As I'm sure you know I sell quite a bit on eBay. As a matter of fact I would be comfortable saying that every single tool, kit, paint, etc that I have for personal use in the hobby, has came (since I got back) from selling kits on eBay. Many guys here buy on eBay once in a while for two good reasons I think. 1) those hard to find kits? That's where you'll find them and 2) sometimes you snag great deals for less than the average market price.
Now the trick is, everybody has an idea of how much you're willing to invest in any given kit. Bid that amount even if it's way higher than the current bid. That's your budget or your limit. I see many bidders that bid one dollar at time only trying to beat the current high bid. 99% of the time they get outbid. In eBay, like I said, people will wait until the last minute to bid. And they will bid high/limit/budget. If you don't get it for the amount you're willing to invest, can you really say you lost if you weren't willing to pay that high amount?
If you're upset at the "snipers". Become one yourself. It's not illegal and it's free if you find the right program. Don't let your morals tell you you shouldn't play dirty too. Lol
Just a little bit of advice to all.

Lol ha ha ha ha, maybe we should have a place on here called " My name is ______________and I'm an Ebay sniper". I'll be one of the first on there. Only I don't use a program, I like the sport of it and do it myself. Also it keeps me from bidding more than I want to. I usually average 1 to 3 seconds left on the auction.

Thats ok, love the back and forth. I have sniped my share of stuff. I wont get too detailed but I do bid and let ebay run my limit up as it goes. I once bought an emblem that was impossible to find for my Dart. The guy wanted $50.00 bucks for it on reserve. The bidding held for days at $12.00 bucks. 6 minutes and the 'game' started. I set my limit at $50.00 that remained until the last minute. With like 30 seconds to go I upped my bid to $201.99. I eneded up winning the emblem but it was close to $80.00 bucks. The models I bidded on were all priced fair. I bid and set my limit. EVERY auction I was outbid by a buck in the last seconds. I know how to snipe as much as the next guy, I just wanted to win without the rabble. The next Challenger or Cuda body that comes up I may just have to get skippy and lurk and strike. Im gonna wait til after the next swap. I may find what I need there??

I hope you do find them Chas. and I know how much it sucks to lose an auction. It hurts even more when you lose by less than a dollar.

Thanks. I did win one today the honorable way. I bid with plenty of time to go. Went 2 bucks above my limit and was the high bidder. Nobody else bid after that so After shipping I got what I wanted for $3.93 more than I wanted to pay and I now have yet another 74 Challenger body on its way. Im just going to shelf it for awhile and concentrate on this here Mustang and my flip vehicle for when I have to let this one sit to dryetc. is going to be my slammed and blown LRT Pickup. In the morning I am building the frame for it. The back will be dropped down with the new setup. I have a airbrush painted LRT new and in the box waiting to be built too. Anybody sees a 71 MPC Cuda with gills think of me. Thats next on my list. Also about 3 or 4 AMT 70 Challengers for chassis, drivetrain, and interiors for the MPC cars. Yep, more bashing!!!

The MPC it??? oh wow. I hope your ready to spend at least $60 for a full kit or $30 for just the body. Not to mention the rarity of the kit. Good luck my friend.

Yeah Iceman. $30.00 bucks for the body would work for me, (if I could find one/). There is a swap coming up next weekend. Maybe one will surface there. I have three Johan 71 Cuda's. me being the picky guy they dont have the gills on the front fenders like a Cuda should. I have converted one body to a 70 using a Monogram body as a donor. Got a few 73/74 Cuda's and at least two 73/74 Challenger bodies to work with now. I just picked up paint today for the Mustang but have gotten knee deep in the Pickup truck I am restoring and improving on this build. Looks like the focus is on the truck for the moment as I am building a chassis with lots of scratchbuilt and creative goodies. I posted some pics of it on the trucks and pickup thread. I will snap pics and update. I should have stuck the truck in the MOTM thread and went head to head with the stock Little Red Express being built but that guy is WAY better than me and mine would look foolish next to his, oh well?? S.C.
