Myself and Ice are working on not changing but detailing the rules so they are a little more clear. 1st , built kits are exceptable for the bracket racing, we dont expect a new build for that every month. 2nd , the idea of the MOTM was new build, now for me a new build is when you come up with an idea or concept and you gather the pieces needed and you assemble your idea into a build. I do not feel you have to buy a new kit each time. I for one do alot of kit bashing, I may buy a new kit just for the body and chrome and the rest might come from junk yards, past builds or even other new kits. I would not call this rat rod as that is a style of car and would be a build all on its own. 3rd , correct me if I am wrong but Custommuscle was going to restore a current build. I am guessing he had built this kit some time ago and was simply going to freshen it up. It still would have been the same "old" build while others were building a new kit. Know if he was going to strip it down remove the old paint swap in a different motor and some junk yard tires then I think that would have qualified as a new build, but I do not think that was the case. So like Mopar4970 pointed out we wanted to keep it fair, "if its good for one then it needs to be good for all". I hope this clears it up alittle and like I said watch for more from me and Iceman.
