now that it's done, I have been trying to figure out the best way to pack the model for shipping. I figure i'll pack it in it's box, and then bubble wrap that box into another one, what I am wondering is, whats the best way to pack it in it's box? all I can think of is mirror coming off, or wheels getting knocked off. what can I 'wrap' it in to minimize the chance of damage?
all ideas welcome,
thanks,
tom

styrofaom packing peanuts?? they tend to flow around fragile parts nicely, especially if ya can get small sized ones.

I put mine in a plastic Wally World bag tied very loosely, then put it in it's box with more balled up bags around it. I did NOT pack anything around it tightly, as I want it to move around and shift as it is being handled. Hopefully nothing will get knocked off, but if it does Ice should be able to find it in the first bag I wrapped the model in. That may be a good tutorial! let Iceman evaluate our packing and share with us which way seemed to do the least amount of damage!...just a thought....

Oh, forgot to mention, after packing it in it's original box, I wrapped that box in bubble wrap (I think) and stuck it in a priority box to mail it. Hope this helps!

Those are all great ideas. Let me add one thing. Put the built kit in a big zip lock bag so that if anything does fall off it doesn't get lost and I can glue it back on. Then put it in the box and shipping peanuts or more bags. I've even seen cotton balls used to pack it.
Thanks to AK for shipping it out already. If you guys can get me a tracking number when you ship it I can be expecting the postman to bring it.
You guys are awesome. Thanks for making this happen as planned.

well, I wrapped it in bubble wrap, then stuffed bubble wrap around that in it's original box. the original box then got bubble wrapped into another box, and that box into yet another box. hope to ship it tomorrow or Tuesday.
Ice, i'll pm you when it's shipped with a tracking number.

Make sure everyone sends Iceman their description of their build so he can include it in the ad
