Alright guys. Not too much serious work got done today. Mostly a lot of test fitting and prep or paint. But here it is guys.



The instructions call for cutting the front and rear arches to accommodate the larger flares and wider wheels. So i mocked up the fenders and parts the cut line with a sharpie.




I also clipped, trimmed, and test fitted the interior pieces. This kit is SUPER accurate and very well made. I will however need to pick up some styrene to make a seat back for the OEM passenger seat.




One of the things that came in this kit was an aftermarket race seat for the drivers position. I figured it would drop in, but nope... A little too narrow.




I just ended up clipping off the inner-more "seat rail" and it sits good enough now.





And... The last thing I have to show is the headlight buckets. I scraped the chrome from the housing itself and left the reflectors chrome. Then painted the bare sections with semi-gloss black to simulate the real deal.

Im going to be doing a Seafoam/Gunmetal 2 tone on the body, and a grey interior. Flocked carpet, glovebox, and door inserts.

Alright guys, finished the test panel. Here is a little teaser of the exterior paint scheme.

Looks like it laid down pretty smooth. I like it.

Here's a small update. Got the 2 tone complete, masked the bumper and it didnt turn out quite as I had hoped. But, its not terrible.





And here it is sitting on the finished chassis and wheel set-up.



Basically only have the interior to paint and some final details and assembly. Pretty pleased so far.

Thanks for the kind words guys! The bumper masking not turning out the way i wanted sorta killed the motivation for this project. But seeing some of these comments, ill be sure to finish it out for you guys.

This build is coming along really nicely FTH,  smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f Mesh grill looks good.

On this kit it was pretty easy. I used Model Master Cement (one with the needle applicator) to basically tack the mesh in place along the pre-intended surfaces. Its 3 separate pieces for the front vents, and 1 piece each for the side vents.

Here are a couple of behind the scenes pics. Cant see the main opening, but its all mounted the same way.




And I know I said tomorrow... But, I finished the lights early. Tada!
