Well, here is another "Tin Indian". It's the 68 Firebird. This first pic is of the real car that I want to replicate. Here are some pics of my build. I messed up the left side and have to repaint that after it dries and I can work on it. I also thought that I had some pics of the interior, frame and engine, but it looks like I fergot to take them. They are ready to be put together and I'll get some pics up later. Thanks fer lookin. Dr Peeko (Dan)

Thanks guys. I'm not sure of the gold being the right color for the top. I looked closer at the picture and the top looks like it is white and the gold is just on top of the fenders. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I can't find any real good pictures on the net to help me on this. Dr Peeko

Dan: That's a hard call to make. I love 'em both! I think this year or perhaps the next was the first year Pontiac may have come out with a 455 super duty version of the Trans Am. Don't quote me but I think it was white with blue trim and may have also come flip-flopped. I've seen at least one picture of a 1st year Trans Am offering and although I've owned GTO's, 442's, Road Runners and even a Triumph TR4-A, I think a 455 S/D would trump them all! Beautiful paint work my friend!

Thanks Mitch. This car ran a 400 in it. 455 would be nicer though. I have a lot of work ahead fer me with this build. I looked at the pic of the 1:1 car and I have to repaint the white on the top of the doors and touch up the white on the fenders. I've never done a three tone paint scheme before and I'm likin it so far. We'll see how much I like it when I get er done. Dan

Are you the Chip Foose of the plastic model world? That is a PERFECT REPLICA of the car. No I'm not, but thanks for the kind words. Thanks for the comment on the car as well. I'm trying to build as close as I can for a replica of the "Tin Indians" that Knafel Pontiac ran back in the 60's to 70. I don't know if there were any more after 70 or not. Being from Akron I remember seeing the 66 GTO in the show room with all the trophies setting on top of the car and that's stuck with me ever since. Dr Peeko

Well it would appear that are are on the same track. I am in the process of trying to find a model of a drag race car from the late 60s, the station wagon of Arnie "The Farmer" Berwick. If you have any idea where I can find one I would appreciate it greatly.

If that's the Tempest station wagon, I googled arnie beswick station wagon and the grocery getter came up. A lot of pictures showed up of this car. (arnie beswick grocery getter) That should help ya out. Use google images and type in arnie beswick grocery getter and the pictures should be there.
I won't be around for a few days. Family situation. I'll post when I get back. Thanks guys. Dr Peeko (Dan)

I'm almost finished with this build. I have to install the door handles and front parking lights. I also have to repaint the hood. I decided to open the air intakes on the hood and so I now have to repaint it. It's in the pond taking a bath and I'll paint it tomorrow. I am very pleased with the decals that I received from Alan at Woopiekat decals. They went on with no issues and I want to get more for a 68 GTO. Thanks Alan. Here are some pics fer ya on how she looks now. Thanks fer lookin. Dr Peeko

Looks great, Dan. Good job on getting that gold stripe in there. Makes it really stands out between the green and the white.

Thanks guys. This is the first time that I tried to paint three different colors on a body and in enamel at that. I'll do it again, cause I have to build the 68 GTO the same color scheme. Dan
