As a kid I was really into WW2 models but once I was in College and just before I really got into car models.
I really got into 1:1 car and the models were put on the shelf. I've had a 1957 Willys Wagon (sold), 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 390, 1970 Ford F250 390 C6, 1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL built 12A motor (sold), and a 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE. I'm almost finished with the restoration of the RX-7 GSL-SE. I will be starting the restoration of the Galaxie within the next year.
I'm getting back onto a kit bash for the 1964 Galaxie with 1960 Starliner parts. I plan to match the 1:1 car I have.
I also picked up a Monogram Mazda Rx-7 a while back that I plan to make into an early '78 or an '80 SE. I just picked up a Tamiya Mazda Savanna RX-7 SE sunroof limited 24016 (very hard to find).
I haven't decided if I want to build the Tamiya model as is or if I want to pick up another Monogram model and kit bash to make it into an '84 GSL-SE like my 1:1 car. This would be a big undertaking. The 84-85 north american RX-7 had a completely different interior (dash, seats, door panels) and the SE has a different motor and wheels. This may be above my skill level but it may be fun to try.
I need to get an airbrush soon so I can get on these. I have an oil less pancake compressor I can use.
If anyone has any RX-7 questions or 1964 Galaxie questions, don't be afraid to ask, I am fairly knowledgeable. Also I have quite a bit of info for my RX-7 GSL-SE on my blog.
Thanks, Chris
