GP: Thanks! I actually recognized the source of the wheels by the first pic since the valve covers are the same as from my '86 Iaconia Budweiser T-bird kit (429 Boss Hemi). This kit is still on the Revell website and there are a lot of them on Ebay, so it'll be in my hands by end of month LOL! What a great wheel construction; much better than the '86 versions.
I 2nd the color of root beer; it's awesome!

JB: Aarrrrgggghhh! Man I wanted those wheels, chromed just the way they were. I've got resin pro stars that just don't have the depth or personality of those shown and you've gotta buy wheel backs. I picked up some that are just like the Shoebox Ford long before I bought the entire kit but again, you've got this klugey (sp?) way of putting some 3 piece backs together to make 'em work.
I guess it must not be very easy or profitable, but the best wheels for me are either one piece where the axle tube is molded into the wheel rear or at least the wheel has an easy to assemble two piece and a little CA glue holds them really good from inside the tire.

That's looking great, I'm gonna have to get me some of that root beer paint for some hot rod builds. Keep up the great work!

Awesome matching the block to the truck! Have you looked for a little silver flocking for the seats? Maybe a couple of stripes, one for the drivers side and one for the passenger, top to seating area front. Not like a lowrider, just a little mellow comfort

Man this is looking great! As others have stated, I really love the color and the matching wheels and poverty caps with white wall tires really sets it off!

TBill: WOW! What a great build! That truck is some serious eye candy! (root beer to be exact). The body just looks fantastic. I love the finish on the paint, very reflective. And the engine just matches perfectly. Super impressive! I can't wait to see the finished product!

Serious eye candy my brother! Not quite on the same vein, but I have a tendency to wire and plumb like a madman. Revell has released a 2&1 Hemi 'Cuda kit that is on my 2-3 year bucket list to build - absolutely box stock for the sheer pleasure of the hobby like you've done here. Let the bidding begin!!!

thanks for the kind words guys. it's coming together pretty good, as always, it has it's issues, but, it's fairly clean and only have a few small paint issues. not too bad for my 8th build. still getting the hang of stuff, lol.
mitch, maybe as I build more kits, I may get more 'detail' oriented [wires/plumbing/etc.], but for now, I am trying to build the best kit I can out of the box, and it's enjoyable. I think at this point if I try to get too detailed it may seem like work, and take the fun out of it.
hit the wrong button and changed my font.......oops....

I think building a kit right out of the box is a challenge in its own. I can't help but shave, cut, or slice something almost every single time. It's a challenge for me anyways
Coming along great

ok, calling it done, other than a clean and wax . off to start a 'finished' thread.
