Houston.................we have a problem.................... smileyCAELY0UD_zps3cc8a166 well, I cracked open the box today to start looking it over. I started to file and sand the parting lines on the body parts and scribe my lines. so after a bit, I thought, well, lets kinda set it together and see how things are fitting.......this is where it all went wrong...... we have a bit of warpage. how do I fix this? cause if I can't get it straight, it's gonna look like dog doo. I have dealt with warpage before, but not on something like this, as it's the base for everything else. any suggestions? or should I e-mail revel and see if I can get another part all together?

Well there's always hot water or blowdryer. That looks like quite a bit of warping I would see if you can get another one.

Hot water. My resin body was warped like that and I straightened it using hot water. Took three tries, but I finally got it. Fill the sink or a small tub/bucket with hot water. Not boiling, but hot enough you can just barely stand to put your hand in it. I let it soak a minute or two to soak up the heat, then pull it out and twist or bend as needed and when it is where you want it, hold it there and immediately run cold water over it for a couple minutes to set it. By my third try I realized I had to over twist mine past where it needed to be as much as it was out the other way, because it would spring back about half way, but mine was resin, styrene is softer and may not need that much compensation. Just be patient and proceed with caution.

Oh TBill. That's sucks that it's warped. Agree with the hot water. If it doesn't work PM me. I want it to be fair so we'll figure something out.

I know, I know, slow as molasses, but I am making progress, body work is almost done. I gotta knock it out of the park with the paint, cuase that's gonna be it's best feature .

Good luck Tbill! Did you take that 1st photo at a hobby store or is that your stock of paints LOL?! Man, my inventory is pathetic compared to yours. I'm actually switching over to Tamiya acrylic or Model Master as I can because of easy c clean up.
Don't worry about slow building. CM and some others are already done and I've seen some incredibly imaginative stories behind the "history" of the truck builds in fiction that are amazing. Can't wait to see your progress!

no pic's yet, but I have a root beer main color with silver fenders. have to go out of town tomorrow for work [and am hooking up with a guy that sells a lot of kits while out there], so won't have an update for a few days. but I am going to be giving it all I have soon.
p.s. anyone have any weld pro star wheels? I could possibly use two front wheels........

Tbill: check out SLIXX or M.A.D., maybe even comp resin for those wheels. My resin set from MAD Modeling didn't come with wheel backs, but I think I got some from SLIXX or Detail Design. Also look at Ted's and see who he carries. Worst case you can search Ebay... Nice paint and good luck!

Dang JB: Where did you get ahold of those babies? I like em a lot. They kinda look like Pegasus... I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure they're from a funny car kit I had about 15 years ago, maybe a revell or monogram kit. I've got the rears still and they're attached to the rear axle.

hey guys, thanks for the links, tips and offers, but, as usual, I get an idea too late, lol. seems the tires I wanted to use in the rear don't fit the space between the box side and fender. it fits, but wouldn't turn if actually mounted, and it's painted........so, off to another idea.....
upside, motor is 1/2 together and painted, and have half the interior in primer and some in paint, and the frame is painted. might have some new pic's of progress tomorrow night, stay tuned....
