Thanks guys !!! I kinda thought I had blown it on the body. It was a bear to get it cut clean and then figure out a way to remount it to look right which I'm still working so we'll see I guess.

Dang CM! I missed this one too! I talked my wife into that just discontinued late model (F body?) Firebird pro sportsman Revell put out with all the resin fans & cameraman in the background. I might like to try this on that model. I know the big boyz who do mighty works with 1/25 use embedded mini-magnets to hold doors closed and hold front clips like yours in place until removal/replace time.
What did you use to cut the clip off with? I'm guessing you did this first before painting, right? Excellent job, my man!

Yep ya really need to do all cutting and cleaning before paint...basically used a new exacto blade used the reverse end off the tip carefully scoring the plastic until separated. It takes some time but best way to get a clean cut.
