It's nice looking though Paul. And the front suspension work too. Good news - it's cold today, but no ice or snow predicted so I got to the P.O. and sent your package. Sorry for the wait, but with the resources you've got, this will be like a little fish in a big pond! Pls let me know if you're satisfied with the exchange. I've never done this before; I've only purchased what I've needed and I want to know I'm keeping up my end of the bargain.
I've discovered that in a large part Revell's prostock, pro modified and pro street rods all have the same chassis and cage parts. Since I have their '55 pro mod kit, I want to turn it into a '57 pro mod and judging by the Soff Seal car (came yellow molded) '57 Chevy, all I need is the body, glass, lights, hood front & rear bumpers and wing/supports and I'll have exactly what I need. Too bad it's going pretty high on Ebay or people are parting them out for a fortune.
Anyway, thanks and let me know when you get the package. It's 3 day priority, has almost the complete AMT '66 Nova Street Mod in it including body and has a chassis/interior from your basic Revell mountain motor build-up.
Mitch

Yep, it's all so obviously painful now LOL! I can identify some of them by the engine plate too. Well, I'm not in any hurry and I have the complete '55 kit and I know the ways to avoid the traps. If you happen to have the Soff Seal parts I mentioned, I'd be willing to buy them at whatever you consider a fair price. Our trade pretty much wiped out my junkyard LOL. Not that I don't like '55's, but I've always loved the '57...

Paul: I'd love to build a '57, so if you can help, that'd be great! I wish I had picked up modeling a little earlier when Revell had just released the Soff Seal or maybe the Tom McEwen's '57 Fastest Funny car. They're craaaazy priced now...

Well guys after a horrible set back I'm going to drop out of the E-bay challenge . I'm already sent kit cost to Iceman as per the rules. What went wrong was after priming the truck cab I placed it on top of my stove to dry and a little later on my daughter came over to use the oven to cook supper ( her oven don't work ) and shortly after I had to go on a errand and she didn't move the model needless to say it melted into a blob of plastic I have a couple more kits but don't have time to do all the body mods and paint so that's about it I will finish the truck and post pics when done just thought I would let every body know upsetting !!!

Bro: Sorry to hear about that modeling (near worse disaster) with the kitchen. I never thought about it; were you using the oven at a low internal temp to help dry the paint? Schwack is lucky enuf to own a dehydrator (on my wish list). Now I know how valuable one could be. I'm just hoping there's enough $$ after catching up on last years bills and bills foreseeable this year from a family perspective to get an Ebay $70 paint booth. I know your daughter must feel awful too about it. Chin up bro!

Disappointing for sure man. Glad nothing major happened to your family or the rest of your kitchen. Still looking forward to see you finish maybe in the future. Thank you for keeping your end of the deal and sending the money. That will still go towards the forum fund.

Same sentiments here Gardenerp. Glad everyone is ok. That's a real drag. Don't get too down tho, its not like this place doesn't already have a bunch of other things going. Keep the faith bro!

Hey Gardner, hadn't been on for a bit and just read the bad news. Glad to here it didn't turn into a serious loss, but it is bum news also to learn you have to drop out. I can relate to the dropping out as I have had to on two contests so far, and it is frustrating. But there are others in the pipeline, so it's chin up and move on. Still want to see it when you do get it done.

aw man, that stinks. as others have said, glad it was just a plastic body and not a worse scenario. hopefully at some point you can complete the truck.
