I was curious as to how some of the more seasoned builders put together the final product when your body is done, the chassis and the interior. Sometimes I see MOTM entries and there are pictures of each portion, apart. That got me to thinking. When I am getting closer to done with a model, I'll glue the interior cabin to the top of the chassis, then I'll drop the body on and glue that to the chassis, along the sides. Do any of you leave any of those pieces unglued? Meaning, do any of you ever keep the body and chassis separate, so you can just remove them whenever you want to snap pics or check each section out?
I assumed everyone glued it all together when it was all said and done. Are there any of you that don't? Can you explain the benefits?
Thanks!

For me as I assemble I take a ton of build pics. I feel the more I show the better for guys like you who are following along and it helps to point out some of the things I have done that I am hoping will earn me favor with the judging masses. Alot of times I just set things together ( dry fit if you will ) and I take pics. When at all imposable, I install the glass, let it dry, then the interior gluing it at the firewall and the back window/trunk area, let that dry, then I install the frame with motor and suspension. In most cases the fit is tight and you need to ply the body sides back to slip in the frame ( on these I dont even glue ) but if in your dry fitting it was loose then I will apply glue to the bottom of the interior and place the frame on to that. Hope that makes sense !

Yeah I'm with Beast. It really depends on the model. I usually dry fit the chasis, the interior tub, and the body to see how tight it's going to be. If it's going to be a tight fit, I don't glue it as it will almost snap into place. If it's loose, then it depends how detailed the interior was. I also take lots of pics in case I want to show off the interior etc. once I finish a kit, I hardly ever go back to take pics of it. I don't share all of the pics. Sometimes folks will ask for pics of this or that and so I usually have those.
Now, I've never done it but I've seen pics off shows where they do just slide the body off to show off the interiors, engine, etc. I'm not joining any shows with these kits so on e done they go in a case and up on the shelf.

Just going to say what Ice and Beast said. They do the same thing I do, other than I probably don't take as many pics as they do.
