here it is all finished...well amost. I still need to find decals or lettering to do the Ambulance and F&B markings There is actually quite a bit to explain on the details (mainly the roof area) that were not shown in the WIP pics... On the outside... 1. The grille had to be customized. The original had only 2 lights per side and the standard grille. Basically, all but the outer "frame" was sanded flat, then the 4 lights per side and the tube grille were built up from scratch 2. The 2 bullhorn sirens on the cab roof were scratch built from pieces of dowel rod, as was the bubblegum on the back section of the roof 3. The housings for the alley lights and the two red flashers on the roof extension were made from soda straws, then the lenses were put in 4. The antenna is a twisted pair of jewelry wire to make it stiff, but flexible On the inside... The blanket and pillow on the gurney as well as the rolled up on on top of the cabinet were made from Viva paper towels that were wetted, shaped and trimmed, and then allowed to dry in place On a side note, I put in the movie, and have been watching it while I made this thread

I have looked for a flat hood (no scoop) to make it more accurate, but refuse to pay the prices on evilbay

That is cool! You are showing your age on this. I see Mother and Jugs, but where's speed? Thanks to all for the nice comments. Owhite3, this is from at the end of the movie, where Speed has gone back to being a cop. If I had put all 3 in there, Jugs would have been in the back. Or, if I hadn't modified the driver figure, I could have had Jugs & Speed up front from when they took the call while Mother was getting a massage. As for showing my age, here's another hint...I was 14 when the movie came ot and saw it at the drive-in theater (with my parents).

Thanks GPB. I went and looked at their site last night/ in the wee hours this morning, but just haven't gotten to contacting them for the custom markings I'd need yet.

Cool! Nice build too. I remember this movie and it has been a very long time since I seen it. I might have to look it up and watch it again.

Thans for the compliments guys.
Gardnerpag44, I an guessing you were talking about the hood without a scoop. The ambulance was built from the base kit 85-7686 "'70s Custom Van" by Revell. But, I am afraid having the kit in your stash wouldn't help because it wouls have the same hood. What I need is a 1/25 scale flat hood for a 1970's chevy van.

LOL Ghost!!!! Wow the name "Ghost" in a ambulance hummmmmmm....... I'm not talking about being posessed, like "Christine", but have heard several stories from EMTs about haunted ambulances, ranging from seeing a patient in back when they hadn't picked up anybody, to an "extra set of hands" being there when they were needed - an arterial bleed that stops when the EMT has to let loose pressure to get more bandages, but then starts again for no reason when they turn back around.

This looks great Ghostrider! I really like the whole build. The exterior is sharp and very well laid out, and I also think the interior is great, down to the simulated padding on the interior rear doors. Great work!

Yes it IS cool to the max! Thanx for putting smiles on the faces of all who see your posting. Great stuff and a pretty good film. As to age, I was well along in adulthood when the film came out. Thanx for a fine addition to any collection. Congrats on your skills in adding so many small bits to make a wonderful display!
