well, one of my tool guys that stops at work hooked me up with an air brush and compressor set up, so i'm eventually gonna give it a go.
before I do though, i'm wondering how much paint is needed to do a body? I have some jars of color, some empty jars, and thinking of decanting some spray cans. I know it needs thinning, just curious as to how much you usually use.

Glad to hear your transitioning into air brush. Best advice, is practice....a lot!! Although some paint already comes thinned, most you'll have to mix yourself. It depends on the brand you use. The goal is to get it to a milk consistency. Not too thick. Time to get some practice bodies. Sometimes a jar of paint is enough for two bodies in my experience. If you decanter a spray can there's no need to thin out. I know this isn't very specific info, but I don't really have a formula for it. Milk consistency is the best way to describe it. Let us know how it works out.

thanks. have a cheapo testors plastic air brush that I used to use on R/C plastic bodies, it did ok, but the clear plastic bodies were more forgiving paint application-wise. but I figured since I've been hit/miss with spray bombs, it was time to get a good brush and give it a go. going to a show tomorrow, maybe i'll pick up some junkyard stuff to practice on.
