This is from the switch era in the late 50's when Dry Lake racers started to got go the drag race route. Made the buggy spring rear set up using pasts from the Atlantic Fiat kit alone withe the quick change and axle tubes. The rear spring /shock mounts are from the Tweedy Pie kit and the ends of the Revell 9inck are grafted on too. Front axle is the Revell 32 axle with the spring from the Fiat kit grafted one. Front shocks and mounts are from the Fiat also. Body is channeled 8mm and top is chopped 6mm. Looks great so far love the chop! I just went to a Philadelphia Modifiers car show a couple weeks ago. Had a great time and picked up a top 50 award for my 31 roadster.

Cool!! I went to the Hot Rod Fallout Show (1963 and older traditional cars) in South Glastonbury, Connecticut last week with my 51 Vic still set up for the Pine Tree Jamboree flathead drags. Got all the way from Maine to Connecticut and back with the lake pipes open! Surprised no hassles.

Got the body pretty close to the way I want it and after hours, the hood and grill shell is done. There is a small Moon tank that mounts in front of the grill that holds iced water to keep the engine cooled a bit. The tank mount and piping is the next project. Funny, the water tank is in the front and the fuel tank in next to the driver, I assume for the hand pressure pump. Looking through my old Auto paint chip books to find the formula to mix a close match to the "Baby Poop Brown" color, it appears to be a REO truck color. Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki
