It's Friday, you know what that means! Time for us to all go over to Mel's and see what he's got cookin'! Not gonna lie guys, this has been a difficult week to get through. Highs and lows all week seemingly changing each day. Today would have been my Grandfather's 78th birthday. I loved all the times he would tell stories about growing up and the ones I loved the most were about cars that he beat the snot out of. I was told about this Barracuda he had that he was doing hard launches and blew out the rear end. So he spent a Saturday replacing the rear end only to back it out of the driveway, mash the GO pedal, sidestep the clutch, and blow out the new rear end. So today bring a car to Mel's that has a story behind it. Maybe it was the car you drove in high school, maybe it was your first build, maybe it was the build that took you the longest. Whatever it is share the story behind it too. Rodg loved having the Del Montico ribeye from Montana Jack's here in Moline so today we will have ribeye steak sandwiches. Rodg also loved cookies so Mel will whip up Monster Cookie Milkshakes. See you all at Mel's!

When I first wanted to start my muscle car collection, and try my first car build since I was 9-10, I decided to start with the old 71 Cuda kit. I went with what was closest to Plum Crazy paint as I could get, as that was the color on the box. I always felt I could do better so I eventually got a second kit and went with Sublime (my favorite MOPAR color). 1 (110) by Eric Lucas, on Flickr SAM_0492 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr Well, if anyone has ever seen my profile pic, then you know I'm a bit of a Chevelle lover. I've been into muscle cars since I was in HS and got the Chevelle as a restoration project just after college. I was forced to sell it after losing my job at the time and needing some money, so Chevelles make up a large chunk of the car types in my collection. SAM_0111 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr Since the old days I have been wanting to get another muscle car. With a new job and a few nice raises at work I have recently been able to achieve that dream and get a Challenger. It's one of the two best cars I have ever owned and I absolutely love it (even if I am still paying off $14k on it). I have quite a few Challengers in the collection now too. It was the car that first got me into cars. One morning while getting up for church I stumbled across an old show called The American Muscle Car. The episode was on the Mach 1 and I fell in love with the car. I started watching episodes every week. SAM_0123 by Eric Lucas, on Flickr
