Ok , man I really wish we would have had more participants but hopefully they will see how fun this is and next year we will have more.
So, this is how its going to work. I am the final assembler for both teams. Once you pick your kit ( by friday ) I will ship each member their sub assembly. You will have 3 months to complete it and ship it back to me ( try to get me tracking numbers by November 1st ) . Once I have all the sub assemblies, I will finish both cars. Then the cars will go on ebay. Winning bidder will not only get the car but an invitation to join Jerrys Cherrys , access to all the build pictures and ability to talk to and ask questions of the members who built his car.
I will be setting up a team challenge thread soon. It will have team names with sub threads for each member to post his progress pictures as he builds his sub assembly . There will also be threads for me to post finished pics before I put them on ebay.
So now you know which team your on and what part you will be getting. Team mates need to talk and decide, color combinations, what direction are you going to go ( stock, hot rod, drag, custom ) and over all what the car should look like when completed. You dont want a yellow car with a stock engine on a pro street chassis with zebra stripped interior. So make sure you communicate with each other. Use the messenger here on Jerrys Cherrys.
Lastly keep in mind you are building this to sell so build what sells, thats not always what you like. When you receive your sub assembly , you can add or change anything ( your cost ) if you dont like the rims and tires and want to use others thats up to you, if you want to super detail the motor , thats up to you. Do as much or as little as you want, but when I get the sub assemblies I will consider the work done and put them together as is. Of course if its something that has to be done during final assembly like say radiator hoses then I will do that. But ship the finished sub assembly and any unused parts back by Nov 1st.
The model that sells for the most will be declared the winning team and I have three Dremal Tools with accessories one for each member of the winning team !!
So using my deck of cards I picked teams and assemblies !!
Team Grizzly
Mustang 1989 - Body assembly
Pete - motor and chassis
Grandpabeast - interior
Team Kodiak
Sharp - Body Assembly
Malcox477 - motor and chassis
Midnightprowler - interior
If anyone has any questions about any of this, please comment on this thread so we can all see them.
So now, talk with your team mates and pick two of the kits, message me your two choices. if there is no draw then each team will get their number 1 pick. if there is a draw then I will flip and the losing team will get their second pick.
