Thanks guys but I screwed up the paint job on the body so into the bath it goes. I used flat white instead of gloss white as base coat so it cracked when I cleared it bummed.

John: wow, how do you whip up these builds so quickly? That transbrake line (on the steering wheel) is my new fav trick. Do the carbs come with the bores that big? What's the black things in the bore shafts, linkage or bore flaps? Is that a stock dist with aftermarket wires and plug covers or did they come as a packaged deal? Hey, it's fair to ask, right? Nice Lenco shifters; don't forget to consider some padding for the roll cage! AWESOME!!!

no I used some big ole carbs I got from scale modeling by chris the black is just paint. Plug covers are just wire covers I striped the wire out off and cut up little pieces. Oh dist came with the kit and I just wired it up

Daggon John, you paint and pre-fit everything! That scoop is the schnitz! (nobody says that anymore). You've got me looking at pro-stock more seriouosly now! Forgot to vote so I'm on my way there now. Bad evening yesterday afternoon and evening with pain - I've been sleeping since 5 p.m. Not like me! I'm not wasting my time on changing carbs at this point; however, I might sand the tops even and re-attach the round air cleaners. The chrome looks nice, I'll just mix a little yellow/orange in with white for the air filter so it looks egg-shell colored. You're on your game bro!

CM: how's the paint job coming? I got tired of waiting to hear from SLIXX so I just warmed my base coat can per Donn Yost and sprayed onto a clean surface, then took a small brush with a little thinner and brushed over the glue and tape smears near the headlight bucket. It turned out fine for a rookie. If the decals EVER show up, I'll put them where I want them. I really though SLIXX was on the ball but this is way beyond ridiculous. Iceman is having me look at his stuff on Ebay for fuel systems. I wanna see his compared to RB Motions. Who's gonna stop John Force now???

Hey J: Ice told me you were picking up some stuff from him on Ebay. I'm looking for some rubber line, .020, .025 and .035 to try in case I want to compare looks of braided line vs. black. I don't think I mentioned it, but I opened up the Glidden monster :0 I washed the body and took the 1st two step parts off their trees in preparation for painting. I couldn't help it bro. It looked so tempting and it's so well molded I'm chomping at the bit. This is one of the nicest things anyone's ever done for me, so again, thank you. I've got traditional ideas and schemes based on the assembled pics from the box and I'm already identifying vendors like M.A.D. for the distributor/wires, black insulation to resemble plug wire insulation over the plug stubs in the heads, etc.
One question: where is everyone getting their safety harnesses with Simpson tags and P.E. hardware? I can find either, both in a kit, but no one with "Simpson" attached. SLIXX has blown me off totally, both by email and phone. And they owe me at least $30 worth of mini-sheets and a graphic sheet to finish the Nova. I'm getting really ticked. Their service started out so well and is now non-existent.
I vote John retire if he wins this year's champ race. Go out on top, not fade away. Chat with ya soon, brother!

WOW THAT WILD SLIXX would do that somebody must be sick or something. I just placed an order and Becky sent me an email immediately telling me I had a free mini sheet coming and to tell her which one I wanted. If you don't get a response let me know an I'll try. Oh about the harness man get one of these sets from MEGA-HOBBIES for 7.50 and just put a Simpson decal over the ones on it. You get two harness sets for that price they are photo-etched onto thin aluminum and you can shape them how ever ya want. Here's a pic....oh and ole John will never retire he'll die racing. Take care call me if ya need to I'm back home.

That is one sweet PE set of a harness if I've ever seen one. I gotta check mega hobbies out too! I checked out the T-bird's body parts and they look great, so I washed it up and gave it a good, easy 800 grit scuffing earlier this evening. I've been beating on this Nova so long I feel like I must be missing something LOL. I'm going to let the decals cure tonight and "Pledge" it tomorrow, the 1st of 3 total coats and I will call it finished.
I think I'm gonna keep the Glidden's paint scheme and interior pretty much the same as with the kit box pics. I will find some fabrication areas for the aluminum/chrome paint I have tho. It looks good against black.

Hey, I lied. After looking closer at the kit, the Glidden car must be painted in two stages and I'm not up to that. I think I might paint it C'vette yellow and have a custom decal company I know make a set of "Tweety-Bird" decals in that Looney Toons motif. I'll have them do that crazy cat chasing after the name too. Then just add some sponsor decals on the bottom of the body. What'do ya think? I think it would be really cool! I could also to the cat chasing Tweety on the rear decklid in a decal too.
