looking good CM. What Willys are you building? I'm going to order some etched parts and fuel line, fittings, etc, to try using on a build. Never used it before and want to delve into it to try and step my game up a bit.

basically just building a custom one from left-over parts from other builds. Probably will use some of the firebird decals they make for gassers

CM: I dig the ignition parts, blower detail and overall feeling that I wish I could jump in the baby and romp on it. It's the sum of the individual parts that makes the model realistic or just a case of aftermarket overkill. I wish I had your spare parts LOL. At least I have the 2nd Nova body intact and ready for the purple pond; maybe that would make a good altered framed funny car. I've got a fair collection of wheels/tires, body pan/tubs and frame parts from the '55 Chevy but it's still just dust in the wind.
I don't know how you put these together so fast and so professionally, but I suspect you may not be married, have two hyper dogs, or a cat, or a ferret, or a 24 year old who just got tossed out of the Army after 2 terms in Iraq or a 14 year old boy too smart for his own good who we home school. Eh, it's like the Titanic. If you survive the disaster, you've got something to talk about the rest of your life.

Are you kidding or serious? I really don't say these things as a complaint; I thank God for every blessing or challenge I'm provided with (sometimes a curse or two doesn't hurt!) I wish I had all the time in the world, but then... Well, I'll tell you what... TedsMarketingMarketplace has some TDR innovations parts like a twin turbo setup for an injected BB I think and it's bad. I'd love to build something like a early 60's 'vette, or a '57 chevy; even a 'Stang or '69 Camaro with a couple of hair dryers just peaking out the hood or grill. Do the whole deal with the fuel lines, wiring, MSD, Lenco, you name it in a pro-mod ride. I'm pretty sure the twin turbo is for 1/16 so I'd be stepping up and out since my only goal in buying kits so far has been 1/25. I know nothing about building chassis for "big boyz" much less scaling all the parts right.
That would be my "Mona Lisa" of drags LOL.

I can't believe you'd want to trust me with any part of a build That looks really sweet! No pro street thing right, like anything that's way out there, just maybe something like one of SMBC's Accel or MSD wiring/ignition kit, some fuelie lines and connections. I don't see any roll cage stuff from the box info, so the interior should be a clean and natural build. I like the white pipes too and the sanded slicks. Tell ya what - I've got to get this Nova finished before I start anything else so I can be focused on the Shoebox after Christmas. I'm still waiting on the outlaw hood; I got the turbos and I don't think they'll be going in as I planned. They are both clocked the same way, which ruins the look I planned. I'll be keeping the engine as is and just pre/prime and shoot the hood the same time as the monochrome look I plan for the bumpers and body. As soon as I get the parts ready and I start painting, I'll let you know. According to the directions I'm following, there's going to come a time of 2-3 weeks drying before I attempt to do any sanding/polishing on it. We can pick up the 'vette then (my treat) and start going to town. I'll go with whatever route you want to take as far as who does what. You can decide color scheme too or we can leave it stock. The build on the box is really nice. Sound good?

Sounds awesome. I never thought I'd like anything that looked so "mellow" (except those rear meats!) but that vette body with a simple blower is the bomb. And it looks so American Graffitti! Believe me CM, I need a mellow, fun build after this first adventure with the Nova. Trying to learn resin basics, prep filling and sanding, priming, re-contouring and sanding slicks and drill/painting wheels along with engine wiring and fuel lines on your 2nd build is crazy. Oh, forgot to mention the hand-made roll-cage, and robbing NOS and firebottles from donor kits !!! I look forward to that beautiful ride. Q: Do you shoot from rattle cans or a paint system? I could almost see a 2 color fade or something with flames on the front if it weren't for the way that nice scooped body line looks in two tone. Shiny black with a pearlized white scoop would be beachin'....

Whoa! That's red! As always great detail on the engine! CM: got a question for ya. You know what jumps out at me on this build? I'd really like it if you used body panel outline. Not insanely everywhere, just in some major places. It would give a contrast to the larger areas of gold, such as around the rear fenders, trunk lines and maybe the door lines. I'm going to try it on the Nova before I paint the 1st color coat while I'm waiting for the outlaw hood from Ebay. Again, this is a real sweet and realistic build!
