This one started life as a junk body and a junk Fire Fighter Mustang Chassis. It took very little to make the chassis fit. Then came the changes, the modifications to the interior and getting a 426 HEMI to fit between the frame rails with hedders. Take a look!! It started like this, Then came the changes, Dipped the body to remove paint. Started lowering the car more to my liking. Even lower. Next was the interior modifications, had to channel 1/4 inch out of it to get the chassis to snug. Then I had to make it custom, Didnt like it so I made a new one. added a custom made roll bar too. painted it up. Took this scoop section and modified it and added this motor, did the bodywork and primed the body, trimmed and painted the ground effects and tacked them and te scoop on for fitment. and here it is painted awaiting final assembly.

Thanks Dale. Been picking away at it. Its pretty close. Lots of little tricks and tweaks to lower it and make it just right. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to get this done. I am currently in the middle of the Mustang Gasser build in a very complicated part of the build. The motor has went through a few changes but its about ready. This car is haunting me though? That yellow paint shines through the case at telling me to finish it. I will be posting some pictures of it soon with updates. Chas.

I was just about to say that. Its a 1984 Dodge Daytona, but it IS on a Mustang chassis. This car will be done soon, tinted glass, charcoal ground effects, and scoop section and dark trim around the windows. It is close.

phew-smiley-emoticon That was a close one!
I remember back in the day, these Daytona cars, never liked them because they resembled a Mustang I guess.

But then again, the ones I seen running around sure didn't look as tough as this one!!!

Thanks buddy. I tried to tie everything in to get the colors to match up. There is two tone charcoal and yellow all over this one inside and out. Put a bunch of time into the motor. This is my new interest. Building engines with lots of detail.

Yes, the scoop came with the kit. If you look at the progress pictures in the first grouping it's there. I posted pictures of the way the scoop came in the kit. It was not as wide and offset. This kit had an option to mount V8 in it but it was sideways and the car was front wheel drive. Since I stuffed this 426 Hemi into this car I had to make modifications to the oil pan and the cradle to get this motor to snug down. With all the mods the engine sits just below the hood line but there was clearance issues. So..I decided to use that scoop section for clearance issues and for something to be over the top of the air cleaner. The problem was the scoop and it's offset. I had a spare scoop section from a scrap kit. I decided to cut the end off the scoop on the left, cut the left side of the scoop from the scrap scoop section, shape it to fit, glue and mold it up to make what you are seeing in the last pictures. Little wide but in the end it worked. Thanks for asking.
