Still trying to shape the rear wheel wells to my liking. Also sanding more details off of the body. You can see the spinners in these photos!

Those wheels look good mate, and with the rear wheel arches, try using a round file, it will make life a lot easier.

Thanks for the tip Dale! high-five-smiley-emoticon I finally got the wheel well opening like I wanted and finished removing the cast in details that the drag cars would not have, then two coats of primer sanding in between and a top coat of silver. Then started applying the decals, which was difficult since the Hemi Dart has a hood scoop while the decals from the Dick Landy 440 Dart are meant to be used on a flat hood. I used decals from both the Dick Landy Dart as well as the 68 Dick Landy Charger which also has a hood scoop, but is a different shape. Anyway, when I was happy with the decals I sprayed it all with clear and set it aside to dry. The next day I masked off the top of the body and painted the engine bay black, and thats when the trouble began! When I pulled the tape off the roof the clearcoat and most of roof decal came with it! open-mouth-smiley-emoticon I've never had anything like this happen before and can only guess that the decal adhesion was weaker than the tape adhesion. Anyway, I reapplied more tape to the roof and pulled it off again to remove the rest of that decal. Then I used the roof decal from the Charger kit to replace it. In the end it all worked out okay, but I think the decal made to fit the roof of the Dart was a little more accurate. Finished pictures coming soon!

forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon
The few times i have used decals, i have found it does not take much for them to come off, but at least you have others to salvage this build, looking real sweet mate.

Oh man, that bites! I have had this happen to me many times as well. It is so dis-heartening when it happens too. But I am glad you had some replacement decals.

Thanks Tom. The Charger roof decal doesn't have the silver stripe between the red and blue so I had to cut the decal into 3 peices and apply them separated.

Nice work on the silver stripes.
For sure, I totally know where you are coming from doing stuff like that. Sometimes, decals are so awesome, then the next build, they can ruin your day, and all you can do is relay on top, over and over. That black numbers Kevin Harvick build did this to me so dam much. I didst post half of what I had to relay on top of others, matching up letters, etc, etc.
Many kudos bud, it takes a ton of patience when decals do this to us.
