no pictures yet, I had the same problem as some of you, so many 70's rides, had a hard time narrowing it down. got it to 2 and noticed that there was a duster in the mix, so I am going to do a 70 challenger. it is going to start out as a pro street car, but I know when I get started, it's going to end up being a full street outlaw. I was going to put my Mopar loyalty aside and do a full tube chassis Monte Carlo with a bunch of resin stuff I have, but that would take a lot longer and I have others on my bench to get done.
I will try to take pictures tonight with all the parts (you know things get added all the time) and get them posted to make it official.
...speaking of official, can I change my mind a few times up until the 14th? worse than a women, I swear!!
....hope I finish this one.
Good luck to all.

I have 80% of the parts all sorted, just don't know if I am going to make it a blower motor or a carbed/nitrous motor.

no visual this time. started sorting out parts, I see I am way behind already...... going with a tunnel rammed dual plug hemi, low to the ground pro streeter. leaning towards a bright yellow, but since I am busting out the ol brand new air brush (purchased almost 7 years ago) I may throw a graphic or 2 on it.

OK, since I have been building.... other stuff instead of this, me thinks me better get a-hopping on this. since my builds have been on the declining side of things lately and I am terribly slow at posting pictures, I have decided to make this a story to help us all get thru this... I will be starting this weekend.... REALLY, STOP LAUGHING GUYS.... I am gathering up parts, gluing main assemblies and priming, test fitting and don't forget the all important dropping and losing pieces. will have pictures to post up next week. I know some of you guys are finished (still can't figure that one out), so just sit back and enjoy, or not, my little escapade in the building of a mountain motored Challenger.
so, with no further adieu....

and the story begins....
the name is Tubbs, no first name, just Tubbs. i am the owner of "Tubbs Chassis and Taco Emporium". since i have hit it big with the crumb and crack free taco shell. made millions selling it to Taco Bell. my partner in crime and chief cook Fred, the Mexican, has always been by my side. he's a great guy, always refers to me as "his Mother". I'd tell him things to do and he would reply in his broken English... "YOU MOTHER...". such a sweet guy, to this day I don't understand the "MOTHER" reference, must be something that happened way back in his childhood.
I have always been excited about pro street cars, drag racing, and the street race show "Street Outlaws" with the Crow and the murder Nova. always wanted to take those guys on, now I can. with my new found wealth, I plan, with Fred the Mexican's help, to build a bad ass mopar to take those guys down. it's gonna be a 1970 Challenger. since there is one sitting in the back lot. Fred will just have to find somewhere else to house the chickens.
the Challenger will be a full tube chassis, don't know what color, low to the ground a monster blown motor with nitrous. most of the details will be ironed out this weekend. have a little over a month to try to finish this masterpiece. Fred said that I need a name for this car and I told him that since you have been by my side, cooking tacos and changing oil, that I would honor him. "you gonna name it Fred?" he said.... "hell no, i am going to name it after something special in your life." i said. "my mother's name? how nice, it's Esmirelda Maria Teresa García Ramírez Juan de la Arroyo Gonzales Cuntswaylow"...... hmmmm, i thought.... "let's just call it "your Mother", OK."..... "why you mother...... " Fred mumbled, "exactly!!"

well, here at Tubbs, parts started rolling in. we got a new chassis "on sale". it's build for some Ford, but the wheelbase is almost perfect, a little tweeking here and there and "your mother's" chassis will be looking sweet. most of the work will have to be on her upper half. I don't like it, it just sits a little low. we will have to enlarge it, make it bigger, that's the way I like it.

talk to Sunnys racing engines and got a 959, 3,000 hp blower motor that I would love to use, but you know me, nothing is good enough for "your Mother", so I ordered a few more motors, just to keep in in the Mopar family. got a huge funny car motor, but the trans is all wrong, would have to do more surgery to make it right for "your Mother". also got a Gibson mountain motor hemi. they are all on the way, should be here by the weekend and then we will make a decision. "your Mother" will definitely be a blower motor for sure.

I gave Fred the Mexican the job of cutting the inner fenders out, God love him, but he went a little too far on "your Mother", he cut her and cut her real good. after he was done, i assessed the job and decided that we need to put back the upper cowl section so the windshield has somewhere to rest. hmmm, first time Fred touches "your Mother", he's all over her and screwed up it real good.

a little test fit of the untouched chassis, fits real nice, but still a long way to go and a short time to get there...... "watch ol' bandit run"...... the chassis sits way too high in the rear end of "your Mother", will have to look some more at it and figure out how to get it to set right. a little more work than I wanted to get her in shape, but we can do it.
