Ok , just under the wire !!
Well I took this build literally , I "built" a wagon. Pontiac made a two door wagon but never a GTO wagon and of course there were never any models of such a wagon so !!!
Using the roof from an old glue bomb 1966 Chevelle wagon I grafted it onto a junk yard 1965 GTO convertible. I joined the interior tubs and I made the chevelle back seat match the GTO front buckets. The dash is detailed and the gauges done. Flocked the carpet. Opened and hinged the doors. Opened the hood scoop as well as the front bumper. detailed the engine bay, plug wires, fuel lines, heater hoses and radiator hoses. I kept the frame detail simple as this was to be a daily driver. It has detailed Stage One Ralleys with Red Line tires. The color is Pistachio with Saddle Tan interior. Black double pin strip and all the badges. BMF on window trim.
This has been a fun build, good luck to all.
She is finished.
Started out with a Revell 48 Ford Woody. The suspension was lowered front and rear. I change out the flat head engine from the kit for a parts pak ford 427 engine . The exhaust pipes are made from solder. The Hood has a scratch built reverse hinge. Changed out the kit bumpers for ones i found in my parts box. The wheels and tires are from the 56 Chevy kit. The interior has purple flocking, pedals, steering column and steering wheel from detail master. The body was air brushed with auto air pearlized purple. All the Wood was air brushed with model air then clear coated and bmf applied.
Time to stick a pin in this one and call it done. It sure has been fun participating in this contest and do we ever have some great builds here.
