Thanks, Tom. high-five-smiley-emoticon
A wreck?? No way, MP. Yours is every bit as nice, maybe better because your BMF trim looks better than my painted trim. Is yours the AMT kit? I noticed a few small differences. Yours has an antennae, the battery is not the same, and yours has a master brake cylinder.

Nice work mate, you did good with the silver around the windows, I would not have got it that tidy with a brush. LOVE your pin-up model too.

Nice, really interesting dark metallic color. My only unsure thing is whether hubcaps used to have some gold color or not. I just don't remember if it was the Avanti or later 50s-early '60s Studes.

None of the pics I found of the Avanti had gold accents on the wheel covers. I did a '53 Starliner a while back, and some of those had them...

Looks great to me! Heck, over half of my builds have painted chrome. Meds have made my eyesight worse (unable to be corrected) along with losing dexterity so I finally gave in and started using Bare Metal Foil.

I use a magnifying headset pretty much all the time when building...I'd be out of the game entirely without it. Tiny brushes and good lighting are also necessary. I find BMF to be more difficult to do than painting...the stuff is just so delicate and hard to handle. Different strokes for different folks, as they used to say.

I use a magnifying visor too even for doing some building! But my hand is no longer steady enough to paint the chrome detail although I do dry brush the chrome emblems that are too light/small to use foil on.
