I did this one day out of boredom to see how it would turn out. I have a bag of old empty trees, so I cut a thicker chunk out. I left it a little long so I could cut and sand the shaft fo fit. Then I guessed the center after sanding the top flat and marked it with a fine Sharpie. I started the hole with an X-Acto knife, then drilled a pilot hole with a 1/32" bit, then a 7/64". I found some .45mm beading wire from Wal Mart craft section for a few bucks. I cut a piece about a foot long, roughed it up a little with sandpaper, then painted it. I cut it into semi-similar pieces, and glued 'em in with LockTite Superglue Gel. I found a spare Hemi and drilled the valve covers with 1/32'', then glued the wires in also with Gel. This is how it turned out. I forgot about the boots, but oh well...I might give the tips some semi-gloss black. It probably isn't up to scale but it was practice I guess. First try at this so maybe I'll do better next time...

That is a very good first attempt mate, i have made them from lots of different bit over the years. It will take a few attempts to get something that will make you happy and easy to do every time..
I use DEUTSH PINS. They are an auto electrical connector pin used in weather proof connectors on machinery. ( they also work for fuel injection trumpets. ).

Thanks everyone! I also have a whole garbage bag if old guitar and amplifier cables which have shorted out and could be stripped down, May have to check into that. I did this same thing for my '71 GTX soon to be finished, except I used the stock distributor, cut off the center pin, then drilled. Looks a little better I think since I could paint the cap flat tan plus you can still see the outer shell. I was going to do a wire to a homemade coil but it would be hidden by the Air Grabber anyway. Kinda fun to experiment though!
