This is going to be my first build in 15 to 20 years. So I'm jumping into the shark tank with a MOTM build. Was going to build something I already had, but I was lost at a Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon burning a hole in my pocket, and I saw this kit. Also the old slingshot rails are my favorites. So far this is as far as I have got in the build. Between retraining myself and realizing the supplies and tools I still need to replace, that I forgot about until I needed them, I have had a couple minor set backs. Also the Florida rain and humidity this summer is not conducive for spray painting and I really don't want to do that in the house. I am now rationalizing a paint booth. Did you hear that? I hear a cello or something. Hear that? duh da...........duh da...........duh da duh da duh da duh da something just brushed up against me !.........wooh! it's ok, just the dog. Carry on folks.

LOL Well that would have been cool, but probably way out of your way. I'm 4 or 5 hours south of Pensacola which puts you in Central Florida Gulf Coast region. Brooksville which is 45 minutes north of Tampa and a little over an hour straight west of Orlando. Ever heard of Weeki Wachee, Florida where the mermaid show/attraction is?

OK, guess it's time for a build update. That way you all know I'm still in the game. Pretty much have the chassis all together and only have some minor details and touch up to do. Engines are around half way finished and the body is in first prime and doing another round of spot filling and sanding. Days are ticking away, but I think I'll make it. Just have to quit wasting those few hours every night used for sleeping.

Looks really good even if this is your 1st build in a while your better then most haha. Thanks lee, but it isn't finished yet. There are still opportunities to screw it up. Also my day job kind of keeps me in practice, as I basically build 1:1 models at a Corvette restoration and custom shop, so I just have to do what I do there only much smaller.

OK, finally an update. Engines are finished and got the body painted today. Really not very much left to do and it's finished. Did have to relocate the fuel tank because, well it just doesn't work where they tell you to put it if you do the tandem engines. The fuel pump wants to share the same space. The tank doesn't really fair well from the injection and plating process either, so I am making new tank stands to move it upward and forward a little, darn forgot pics of that, anyway here is what I got for now.

I guess I'm not posting in the show cars thread. The others have already been put up for voting. Thought I had till the end of the last day of the month. Oh,... no wait.....I have posted to the finished MOTM Show Cars. Well OK, I have finished this build. Relearned quite a bit doing this one, and I also now know more of the areas I need to work on in my building skills. With out further ado, I present for your ocular molestation, the final pictures. Alright, enough of those crime scene photos. On to the next victims.

OK sir as you know we are not allowed to post real cars as models. I'm gonna need those crime scene photos and this may turn into a fraud investigation

Thanks Chris and CustomMuscle. And Chris, it was a real bear finding a gray tarp that big to park it on so it would look like a model.

Thanks knarf and AK. The header bluing actually looks truer off camera. The flash washes it out a bit. Not 100% happy with the bluing, but I think it's pretty close. I have some more builds coming. Got two on the bench now and four or five others in the planning/gathering process.

Well Mr. Knarf, The two on the bench are for October MOTM and October Paradise Road. I'll be posting those as soon as the threads open for them. A couple of the ones in gathering/planning are for December MOTM and the Anniversary American Graffiti contest. I have some Corvettes to build, one of which will be the way I want to do the 1:1 '70 coupe I did some horse trading for and that I've been gathering parts to get done.
