Crap - that hood is off quite a bit. Guess you will need to keep it up for display purposes.

Thanks DC. I've solved the tail light issue by using the original GTX housing and flowing epoxy into the "cups" until it was flush with the outer edges. Then painting them with Testors stoplight red paint. I will have to take a picture of them tomorrow and post them. I sanded off the air inlets on the original hood and used the hood scoop from a 1/24 scale SuperBee (trimmed down a bit so it looked more in scale on the 1/25th GTX body.) I filled all the seams with spot putty and sanded it all smooth to give it a one piece look. I'll have to get pictures of this tomorrow too. The model is all done now and I just realized I don't have any good interior pictures so hopefully I can get a couple of shots through the windows!

Until then, here are a couple of reference photos.... This is the decal that came on the hood of the 69 440 6bbl roadrunner. I happened to run across a set of these in 1/25th scale at a model car contest year ago this next decal was on the air cleaner lid and advised that in cold weather ( and heavy rains)you should block the hood scoop and open the two the air cleaner base.

Yep - this is definitely an episode of Graveyard Carz!! two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon Awesome attention to details Alan - simply awesome!! Thanks CC! I just want to point out some of the reseach I've done to get this as accurate as possible. This is how the hood and taillights turned out: The blue car on the left has the correct 69 GTX tail lights. They are recessed in the housing and are rather small. The roadrunner tail lights were larger and the lenses were more flush with the housings. www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=154412&d=1385843217The 440+6 road runners all came with a blacked out fiberglass hoods with four hood pins holding it on. These cars had NO hood hinges or hood latches!

Nice work Alan.
Thanks for the history lesson as well. I didn't know the Roadrunner didn't have hood hinges or latches.
So did the whole hood just lift off?

Nice work Alan. Thanks for the history lesson as well. I didn't know the Roadrunner didn't have hood hinges or latches. So did the whole hood just lift off? Yes it did! Only the 1969 440 6 barrel road runners and the 1969 440 sixpack dodge super bees.

I like all the accuracy you're throwing at this build. It just seems to give it that much more in the detail department. Good color on the body as well.
