Thanks Paul, personally, I'm not really liking this build, so I guess it's a good thing I will not be keeping it. LOL
BUT, I may be paying the club for it, after checking on Frank's last, most recent post, it was this build he last posted a comment on. Kind of leaves a big frog in my throat, and makes this build special in a way like no other
Sooooo - we will see what I decide. I do know if I keep it, I will slide the club WAY more than what an auction could have brought, that's for sure!

Making some more steps forward.... I apologize for these pictures not being to nice, not sure what the hell, but anyways Exhaust and fuel tank are in.... Rear end and leaf springs ready to go together, wheels readied to put on as well.... Interior is coming together.... I decided the ribs in the headliner should match as well - copper of course. Started by lining with white gelly pen - will finish up with a copper Caligraphy paint pen I got from HL

First go with copper caligraphy pen - much touch up to do.... Second go with the copper pen, AND flat black paint..... A quick, light hit with some clear, and will get the black jelly pen after this for final touches..... Meanwhile, back at the ranch - oh no, don't look now, looks like she is sitting on all four's at last! Dash coming together, firewall on, added some speaker grills for the rear window At this pace, I should soon be BMFing, polishing and final assembly soon. Again, sorry for the rough pictures, not sure whats going on, something is definitely ASKEW - but I will figure it out I hope, Lol

I am in cool down mode...... Car already took a flight across the desk! The dupli-color, color changing paint is hard for sure, seen no chips in it, WOW, and trust me, it really went flying! Been a long week playing nurse and all, think my nerves are shot, I don't know man. The issues you ask? Well........ Laid some BMF on the side, after I cut the bottom section, it pulled my decal clean off! The I tried to do a window with some copper paint, dam near screwed up my paint job, luckily I was able to wipe this off quickly. Then laid foil on the rear window, as I went to jump to the front window, the top half tore off My BMF skills SUCK - apparently my decals SUCK as well......... Gonna re-think my approach. Gonna calm down, and I think what I will do is remove my decals. BMF the windows and sides, clear coat the BMF. Then try to relay the decals, luckily, I printed extras, subconsciously I must have been aware they would suck....

I tried to use gold foil on a build once and could not get to work , would not lay smoothly or fit around corners wit out kinking or buckling up badly as for the chrome works a whole lot better , never tried copper foil but black chrome is as bad as the gold foil I tried , as far as decals I have always laid the foil first then the decals as they are so much thinner then the foil and will always pull up the decals , just my experience but hope this helps

Yep, that does help Paul. I pulled off the decals, and am about half way with the copper foil. But it does the same as the black chrome I used. Like you said, it buckles and kinks so easy. I am gonna try to get the other side and rear window done, and hit it with some clear so it settles down. Then will re-try the decals. Short of me putting this body in the blender, I will do my best to get it finished. It sure won't bring any money, but that's the contest I signed up for! LOL

ust gotta at it That's why I always have 4 to 5 going at once so if I get upset with a certain one I just set it aside and work on a different one really helps out some times

Thank you Paul, thank you Les - I will keep at it. Best i can, I do have an idea on how to blend he copper. I mean, the chrome, after getting a coat of future, looks more gold than copper, sooooooooooo.... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon Once I get past this hurdle, and get some clear flying, I will decant the original copper paint, and do some touches here and there to help everything blend. Hope I am making sense here, Lol

Did you give it all a good rub with a q-tip mate? I find this helps smooth it out and polishes it at the same time. I don't think clear will help it one bit, if it wants to peel, it will lift the paint as well mate...

Sure did bud, q-tip, fingers, toothpicks, everything I could think of to help burnish it down, and yet it still lifts. The only reason I am thinking to use a little clear would be to help seal it down, plus, when I re-decal, that will need to be cleared anyways as well. forehead-slap-smiley-emoticon Sometimes my brain see's more than my hands can accomplish I'm afraid! I have totally had it with this stupid copper BMF. It does not stick, it crinkles, it's junk!!! So off it goes, into the trash! I then went old school and used the super fine micro brush and laid some flat white. I will decant the original copper spray, and cover the flat white. Then decal and clear. Should have just went old school from the get go. For sure Paul, you are right. The black chrome, copper, and probably the gold BMF SUCKS!! In fact, if anyone wants a new package of gold BMF, let me know, I doubt I will EVER try any BMF other than chrome from now on.

I got screwed over with gold BMF and black before too mate, if i really need to use it, i use a bit of white glue, ( it dries clear), but only if i really need to, otherwise i stick to the good old chrome. Nice save too bud, it will still look great... smileyCA9464IN_zpsd9ee499f

Thanks so much Mike, Dale and Les. Just hope I can touch it up better. I know what you mean Dale, the copper is great, until you hit it with clear, then it turns a dirty gold. oh well, live and learn I guess, I did find that copper paint pen, (which by the way leaked everywhere!) BUT, it stayed copper looking once cleared, as evident from the headliner. So I do believe if I want to do copper again, the paint pen will be the way to go, just de-"pen" it, if you will, into an air brush bottle. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon I have to finish mowing tonight, but will try to polish then stay after this to the final assembly to get this sent off to Iceman. Then I need to get after the anniversary build, of which I have not even started yet! smiley-scared002 So much to do, weddings to pay for, trips to plan, and builds to build - life is good fellas, Life is good!
