Looks like a good project, if you don't want to re paint it, i would use some polish and remove the black bum stripe, as it is already peeling on the side, that would make a nice tidy model of it. OR you can re-paint it, but has a lot of potential mate.

Nice score. Not an easy find. I think Harts Parts has the correct bulge hood and convertible boot in Resin. At any rate the convertible boot in the 69 GTX is a spot on fit. I like finding them old MPC cars. The chassis stink and some of the components on the cars are kind of back in the day lacking detail. Nice that AMT and Revell have some nice chassis and components to retrofit. I just got an interesting color from the hobby shop. 68 Root Beer metallic. Painting one of my 68 Road Runners that color with white top and interior. Should look nice.

It's getting stripped & repainted. The color looks like Plasti Kote Candy without a base color under it. It has runs & light spots The original builder opted to do the Hilborn fuel injection & one of the stacks are missing. I managed to locate a new setup & figured I'd build that engine for a standby & build a Hemi for it Here's a front end pic & some others

The engine is a bit out of shape & missing a part of a header as well

Man, I HATE them chassis with the molden in suspension, exhaust parts. I have a couple and in painting them they can show detail but there is not much wiggle room to modify, (at least like I am always doing) so there are limited options.

Yea Chas the wheelbase is off The rear wheels sit too far back Back in the 70's I used to take a detailed rear & cut it to fit & whittle the original leaves off & fit them I like doing the detail too & don't care for all the molded in crap either I want to score a hardtop body & do a 68' Super Stock look kind of mirroring the 68' Sox & Martin RoadRunner (Tunnel rammed/Dominators with stacks Hemi) Thanks for the tip on Harts Parts

Yeah. I'm looking for a hardtop body too. My brother has a 68 Coronet R/T and I would like to make his car. Just don't want to go resin. Don't like it much. Come across any extras in your travels keep me in mind. I will do the same for you. Big swap next Sunday by me. What's your price limit if one appears?

Chas, the hardtop body is easy to find & you can piece one together The only resin pieces will be the hood & boot on my car The hood sells around 30-35 in resin it's 5.00 the boot 4.00 The boot sells for more than the hood Modelhaus has the car from bumper to bumper in resin The other pieces that were missing or incorrect I've bought on Ebay The front seats, used were 6.99, NOS on the sprue headers & collectors 2.25, Keystone wheels & another set of correct tires for the car 6.18 These parts all came from the same seller so the shipping for them was 3.50 They should be in my mailbox today
My previous purchase was a NOS Hilborn fuel injection system like came in the kit 2.00, unpainted used firewall 8.00, really nice front bumper 3.95 All from the same seller so shipping was 3.75 IIRC
