This is cobbled together prior to paint to see if everything looks and fits right. This is the texture I made on the roof for the vinyl top. went with two coats of primer, sanded them down with 150 grit sandpaper. Lightly went in a circular motion between coats. Put one more coat of primer then painted it semi gloss black.

Its got paint. This turned out better than I thought it would. Next is to finish the motor, then try to find the rest of the interior and get thet done.

Really. You want me to do a tutorial? I don't think my work is that great but maybe I can do one. Perhaps you or somone else can take my idea to the next level. I have some bodies not earmarked for anything. I will get one out and do a step by step. Just a FYI. I did my vinyl top before I painted the car. Most do it last. From prep to vinyl top to paint was only four hours total. I use testors lacquer rattle cans.

Thanks and yes I don't know how to do one of any kind and I have 2 Mopars that wouldn't look right without them.

Nice choice on the roadrunner chassis, so much nicer than the Johan piece for sure. That really fixes the one big problem with that older Johan mold, well done ! Nice vinyl top work too. two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon

Thanks guys, coming from guys who build killer models I take the compliments seriously, praising-the-lord-smiley-emoticon I have always felt unsatisfied about my builds and thought my work was poor but I have fun messing with them anyways. Im building quite a collection up. I dont know which I like beter though? The complete out of box kits, the old unfinished models that have been sitting around here for like FOREVER, or going all out on a build in need of lots of repairs and to bring back one that is almost too far gone! They are all fun though!

Built up a nice dual quad Hemi for the Superbird. Heres a picture of the motor on its own and another picture of the motor in the engine bay.

Very nice. If you don't detail the engine bay, I think even a slight black wash will add a slight realistic effect. Great job.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It really means a lot. A little history. I'm actually building this model as a tribute to a man who taught me a lesson on antique cars. This guy had a Superbird just like the model I am making. He had the car at the Mopar Nationals and removed the trunk lid, put a guy and a cooler full of beverages in it and drove around the grounds passing out cold drinks on a very hot day. He had the car backed into and it caved in the nose. He struck a deal on the spot with the guy and moved on. Lastly my sons were seven and eight and at a show with me and this guy insisted on having my sons stand on the rear wing so I could take a cool picture for them. That's the reasons behind this build. I intend to present this to him at the Christmas gathering of the club. I can't wait to see the look on his face!
