This is a lost and found creation I made about a decade ago. My daughter found it late last night in a box hiding in her closet. This was two bodies from two different brand kits. An AMT 1970 Dodge Coronet and a Johan 1970 Plymouth Superbird. These were originally built but both damaged in a colapse of a shelving unit. The Superbird landed on its roof and the Coronet landed on the right front fender and both were in bad shape. I did some trimming and fitting and cobbled the two together to make one. I stuck with the AMT Coronet chassis as it was a race car setup. Early this morning it got the rear end re-glued back on, one of the front spindles replaced and a quick coat of primer as it was painted two different colors. Now this sets as it did a long time ago. As I go through my (almost builts) this one will get finished up. My opriginal plan was to paint this car White, yellow, and green and add some of the decals from Terry LaBonte's #5 Kellogs Corn Flakes car hence the 'Cornybird' name I put on this wierd car! Enjoy!!

You come up with some really good ideas. Really like the engine and those big wheels.

WOW I have to say grafting a Daytona front clip on a 70 Coronet is a great idea. Now you're giving me bad ideas.

It's a Superbird clip. In theory on the 1 to 1 cars they use 70 Coronet fenders for the Superbird conversion I thought it would work on the model. Because the front clip is Johan and the rear clip is AMT there were some size issues to address. It's just kind of cool taking two wrecked models, creating one, and using the best parts from both re- creating something that even looks cooler. Forget the wierd Kellogs decals. This one's gonna be Mango Orange when its ready to be painted. I just have to do good bodywork as my paint jobs are excellent and I want this one to look like it was made this way!
