Got it finished so here it is. It started life as a VW new beetle but I saw a pic of an original bug done as a coe while the exacto was nearby and, well these things happen. Cab area and door tops raised a rough scale 10 inches, and pulled forward about 18 inches. Porsche 911 engine flipped 180 degrees and fitted in the bed area(not much use as a pick up now) Air tank and lines, brakes master cylinder and brake lines from front to rear. Alfa romeo front suspension cut up to suit the rear suspension. Lowered a scale 8 inches. Seats froma olds 442 kit and panels cut from the olds back seat to do the door cards as they were pretty boring and looked stupid next the seats. Foiled some of the dash for a retro feel. Exhaust made from solder and routed through the original reverse and fog lights in the bumper. Foiled some of the front bumper. I'm sure there's more but my minds gone blank. On with the 5, and some more.....
This is my 49' Ford pick-up.
I wanted a duallie, so i used the wheels from the F350, slammed it a little bit........ and gave it a dual layer ghost flame job.
It has the Ardun flat head engine in it too.
Paint is all Automotive Acrylic.
Some more.
Figured I'd jump in here, since it looks like a 40' Ford convention !
Old, long gone build from the 90's, so these are the only pics. (no chassis -10 points!!)
This was actually a real truck. When I lived in Ga there was an old crotchity dude named the Hogman (never knew why he was named that) and he had a junkyard. Sat out front at the entrance in a "shotgun shack" w/ double barrel ! He was a nasty old SoB, and I doubt he ever even sold anything to tell the truth, cause no one liked him. The phone number is actually my old number from back in Ga. My first real try at weathering, duct tape on the seats, wore out tires, and the busted up battery.
This is my entry for the Bracket Race. It started life as a bad Little Red Express and over a year in the making it has become what you see here. A Revell Challenger SRT 8, Little Red Express truck, and the parts box were combined to make this truck. Best features are the detailed interior and custom lowered suspension. Enjoy!!
Here is my entry for the month. My last pickup build.
Here we go low and slow !!
a few more
I'm not big on trucks, but I fell in love with this body style. There's just something about it's look.
I went all out on this one. Had a little bit of trouble with the cab, but it came out great.
Here is my entry to the race, the truck has been painted Pearl Red over Silver which gives it a pink effect, doors open rearwards and a white interior, its also been lowered.
thanks for looking
