Thanks Beastie. Now that all those questions are cleared up, everyone get back to work building and gluing fingers together.

Are we allowed to use resin body's for are MOTM build's? I found a sweet looking 55 nomad id like to use for an upcoming build. I just don't want to get it and no be able to use it. It will be an all new build just with a resin body and not the one that comes in the kit. Any help would be great.

I might try one of these. Questions that need to be answered before I start. Since I have most of my cars just set up can I use any of them? None are painted, none have motors or transmissions, only have interior tubs, and wheels and tires are just on for purpose of sitting on a shelf, can I use multi kit bashed models for the contest? Does it matter if its a car or a truck? Would day one pictures of the model and progress be acceptable in the progress column? TV show or Movie, does it matter? Thanks. Santa Chas.

Ok answers in order of questions. 1. These "set ups" would be ok if you intend to break then down and start from scratch and build it back up. This would all be done threw the use of wip pictures. A "new" build does not mean a "new" kit. but you cant just take a built car, dust it off and add decales and then call it a new build. 2.kit bashing is encouraged if you look at most of my builds they are the product of three or more kits that i piece together to get the look I am going for. again all this is shown in the wip pictures. 3.unless it says specifically ( example 2 wheel drive trucks )then no it can be anything that fits the theme ( snowmoble, motor cycle, farm tractor ) 4.Thats what goes in the progress thread. Most people start with the kit and pieces the are going to use and then they post step by step as they build. when finished follow the rules required photos to be posted in the "Finished" thread. Remember the first five should be the best five required pictures. see suggestions on sizing and such 5.It says TV or Movie Car so any vehicle car , truck, motor cycle from any TV show or Movie just tell us what show or movie it is from. Now there is still time but that MOTM does end in 3 days.

Thanks for the answered questions. I am still unsure about the shelf models I have. I can rip them apart in seconds but the front and rear suspension is all glued on so... perhaps a new kit(s) might be best. Too much expaining to do on those shelf models. I will just build them up because they need to be built. I have enough stuff here not having piece one glued so that will be a snap. I am looking more on to the Mopar build, truck build, and of course the Santa build. I think I have three in mind to build. Just depends on time (or lack thereof) and just how much life gets in the way. Thanks G.B. Chas.

Well keep in mind you can build the kits anytime just follow the rules , take the pictures and then hold until its time then post the pictures. In other words you can build your December build now as long as it follows the rules and you dont show it here or on any other site until you post it in November

ok, the month of July has started just a few days ago. Do I start a kit now, taking pictures, uploading them, then when finished upload those as well to the finished folder? OR - do I need to start working on the August MOTM contest?

OR - do I need to start working on the August MOTM contest? You need to do the August one, and be done before August first. The July contest is done and is being voted on now so their pic will be at the top of the websites page for the month of July.

He's right. You gotta build for August already. You can start a thread now and you do have to show progress pics from beginning to end. Let us know if you have any questions. Would hate to disqualify you for a technicality but it's happened before.

I thought I was to start August. I will get cracking! As far as posting / starting a thread, I will save my photos until the under construction folder for the August MOTM is ready
Thanks! phew-smiley-emoticon

Yes , Between July 1 and midnight July 31 you have to start your August build , post wip pics ( start to finish ) and then enter the five required photos ( see rules ) in the Show Cars thread that is right under the Work in Progress thread. You are always building for the month ahead that way we can vote and the winners displayed for the month they won

Oh - ok - now I think I get it. Sorry, still learning the whole folders and threads thing here. So I can just start the wip thread in the work in progress folder on the main page. Then you guys move into to a August MOTM wip folder when it is created? I thought I had to wait for these August folders to be made in the MOTM section. I have to mow, then work on some outdoor furniture today, gonna make some chairs out of old used pallets. Then tonight, probably late after fireworks, I will be picking and starting a kit for August and will start a thread. Thanks for all the info everybody!

Yeah I would say no. I think this theme usually asks for the traditional Ford. Mustangs, maybe Torinos, or a even a Cougar. I always think big engines. I think you should pick a different Kit.

I was changed tonight, my wife wants me to build a convertible Camaro. I will get after that one and get started for August. I have a bunch of funny cars to build, you think we could get a contest for these?

Just DOUBLE DOUBLE checking. I read over the "resto-mod" approval for building the MOTM kits. Since I am in kind of a pinch if you will from my build, and need to come up with an idea quick, I wanted to make sure I could pull over an engine, previously built that I would work to fit. Would this be ok? I do not have any build pictures of the engine itself. But I could have some in tearing down and fitting it into this MOTM build, this is also only a maybe idea as well.

The idea of resto-model is that you can take an old build and disassemble it with pictures and then reassemble it making changes, swapping motors and such with pictures. To swap in a motor that is already built with no pictures would not work within the rules, Sorry. You do still have 15 days. Good Luck

No worries, was just a thought. I will stick to the original motor from the kit. I just hope I can save the body tonight after the nightmare that was last night, LOL!
Thanks!

Muscle cars are mainly american made 2 door sports coupes with powerful engines whether it came like that from the factory or a large V-8 engine is jammed into it. Either will work. There are some very classic factory muscle cars but anything with enough horsepower to wake up the neighborhood will be ok.

So I could stuff a 7,000hp funny car engine in a Miata and call it a muscle car? lol. Thanks Ice!

Jbaileys right CC.
The Miata probably wouldn't work for the muscle car category. Isn't it a Japanese car?
Just saying. Lol
